“I didn’t stay overnight, but I stopped to admire the Fallon Hotel from the outside and it’s absolutely beautiful. The architecture is a perfect example of preserved Gold Rush–era design — brickwork, balconies, and details that look like they’ve been frozen in time. The building is in remarkable condition, a true highlight of the historic district. The little garden beside the hotel is charming too, adding color and life to the classic 1800s look. Even just passing by, it’s clear this is one of the gems of Columbia State Park.”

“Cottages at La Honda is truly a one-of-a-kind compound and the perfect place for an intimate gathering. We stayed for three nights for our wedding, with a beautiful main house and five cottages that comfortably hosted 24 of our closest family and friends. Having the entire compound to ourselves made our wedding feel like an immersive, multi-day celebration rather than a single event. There is an incredible little river running through the property that adds so much charm and magic, and the game barn was a huge highlight. It kept guests entertained all weekend and became the setting for so many unforgettable moments. The layout strikes a rare balance between togetherness and privacy. The main house naturally became the heart of the weekend, while the cottages felt cozy, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed for guests to truly relax. Most importantly, pictures truly do not do Cottages at La Honda justice. You have to experience it in person to understand how special it feels. If you are looking for a location that allows you to host your loved ones, slow down, and turn your gathering into a meaningful, unforgettable weekend, this place is absolutely perfect!”

The staff was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. I especially want to recognize the lovely lady who was working at breakfast. She was so kind, friendly, and attentive. She greeted us with a smile, made sure everything was well stocked, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Her positive attitude and warm personality really stood out and made our breakfast experience even better. It’s employees like her who make a hotel stay feel special. She truly deserves recognition for the excellent customer service she provides. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend this hotel”
