“OK so I need some bamboo. I knew nada regarding bamboo and was calling around Napa nurseries and given the solid 411 to call Jungle Bamboo. What a jungle delight the 2 Andys are, fine humans with a wealth of bamboo knowledge! They set me up right with some life stories.....hilarious and then the right bamboo, "clumping bamboo" took the 5, 16 footers home and Voila! Fantastic privacy from the peeky neighbors. Thank you Andys! Jock”

“Pond & Garden is a beautiful place to find everything you need for outdoor water features and landscaping. The selection of pond plants, rocks, fountains and accessories is impressive and makes planning projects fun. The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful, offering suggestions without pressure and answering all my questions. The grounds are well organized so browsing feels easy instead of overwhelming. Prices seemed fair for the quality of products, and I left with everything I needed plus a few extras I didn’t expect to find. Parking was easy and the whole visit felt relaxed and enjoyable. I’ll definitely go back when I start my next garden project.”

“Awesome store all together! Selection is great and I always see something new every time I go. The staff are all awesome with so much knowledge. I’ve got my best friend and mom hooked on stopping here whenever we have plans in Petaluma!”

“I’m a novice gardener so it’s very important to have a knowledgeable staff. King’s has that! They are very helpful. The plants are beautiful and healthy. Kings is relatively small so the selection is somewhat limited. The prices are a little higher but it’s worth it!”

“If you’re looking for plants and shrubs in containers to fill in a garden, this is a great place. Nearly everything in 1 gallon containers and larger and lusher compared to others at same price point.

You do have to look with some intent for native varieties, but I’m happy to report that there are many to choose from.

For anyone with mobility needs, they do a good job of having ramped routes, but do know that it’s on a tiered hill, not flat land.”

“Bees n Blooms is definitely a Sonoma County bucket list located at 3883 Petaluma Hill Road, resting at the bottom of Taylor Mountain. This private organic farm and lavender garden offers a little piece of beautiful nature. From the moment you step in you’re greeted by breezes and fields that shine with color during bloom season.

While most of the blossoms have faded by late summer/early fall the space still holds a soft, natural beauty. The air smells faintly of lavender, birds flutter through the trees, and the whole place carries a calming energy.

The lavender labyrinth is a must. It’s the largest in California, with over 900 lavender plants and a half-mile loop that feels both grounding and meditative. There are also friendly farm animals like ducks and chickens, as well as open spaces to sit and stroll.

If you’re hoping to catch Bees N Blooms at its best, plan to come between mid-May and mid-July, when lavender season is in full swing. They host beautiful community events like sound baths at sunset, live jazz, food trucks, and the Lavender Bloom Fest, where guests can pick their own lavender bundles for $5. The farm also sells lavender products, plants, and honey — all local and thoughtfully made. When the garden itself is closed they still have their website open with products to purchase.

The staff seemed polite. My first ever visit here, the owner kindly approached us to explain that the farm was closed for the season and asked us to return another time. She did so respectfully, which I appreciated.

The only downside for me was the $15 admission fee and $20 on jazz days. While I understand it supports the farm’s upkeep, I do wish there were a discount or membership option for locals, since this is such a community-oriented space.

To the beautiful people of Sonoma County and visitors abroad, I recommend visiting Bees N Blooms at least once — especially during peak season. It’s a tranquil, soothing destination that captures the heart of what makes our county so special.”

“This is one of the best nurseries I have ever been to. Truly a hidden gem tucked in between the gorgeous farmlands of Sonoma county?

I'll admit I may be a little biased since they seem to specialize in the kind of stuff I personally am most interested in? but for any other succulent and bonsai enthusiasts out there definitely keep this place bright on your radar if you're ever passing through the historic gravenstein highway just south of Sebastopol?

What makes this place stand out to me especially is that they propagate their stock in house? They have a few greenhouses packed full of gorgeous, some even more rare plants, and plenty more blocked off from customers with even more stock that they rotate out throughout the year. Just peeking in I could see such amazingly grown succulents just waiting for their time to soak in the sunshine of your garden/collection?

I feel so lucky to have moved just up the street from here. I'll have to do my best to pace myself? but even just coming through and admiring the rows upon rows of vibrant bonsais in such pleasing plantings will have you leaving so inspired and filled with love for beautiful plants?”

“Cam and texi just completed a beautiful landscaping job which included stonework and a pergola. My only request was no straight line and somewhat overgrown. I'm very happy with the completed project.”

“Great assortment of plants to purchase; however, the real treat is touring the gardens. Wear comfortable shoes and explore. If you want to see trees and flowers in a natural setting Sonoma Horticulture Nursery is the place to visit.”

“Happened upon this store and didn't realize until I was inside that this is THE Baker Creek seed store. Like a kid in a candy shop, I marveled at all the seed packets and seed starting materials. What a lovely place with a lot of great information and items!”

“Wow!!! we love this place! The owner is amazing and helped us tremendously in picking out the perfect tree. one season has passed and the maple has bloomed and man it looks amazing.”

“This is the real thing. Nothing cute about it — big sacks and buckets of seed and fertilizer, native grass seed by the pound. I love this place — makes me want to be a proper farmer.”

“Sprig is an awesome little nursery that packs a lot in! The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of flowers, veggie starts, planters, and garden decor. I always start off walking around with plants in my hands, but soon have to transfer to one of their carts. There's so much good stuff to be had!”

“Funny business title but packed in this small little shop that Eugene runs is indeed an amazing collection of roses, oddities & amazing things. We've found an excellent variety of David Austin English roses that are simply too difficult to find elsewhere. We've learned about tools (e.g. rose pruner from Burgon & Ball, dropped the winter pruning time down to one day) that have leveled up our rose and gardening game. In addition, plenty of soil, fertilizer, and garden accessories to choose from and our only regret is not discovering this place sooner.”

“Love this place. Fast and Easy to unload my trailer full of green waste. I get my mulch from them as well. Would like to see some sort of discount for those of us who drop off yard waste and pick up mulch on the same day, seems a bit greedy to charge someone to drop off their stuff and get some of it back on the same trip, but who isnt about making or saving money these days?”

“Marty and his partner have cultivated an excellent selection of succulents, tropical-style plants, and exotic flora. Everything they have grows in zone 9 ( Sonoma County/ Soco). Call ahead for a walk-in appointment. Service here is personalized, friendly, and always educational. After much deliberation over the winter, I returned to purchase a broadleaf Travesia Palmata that unfortunately had already been sold by the time I returned in mid-February. Fortunately, they had more than one and I selected a 4.5 foot version--we love it! The plants at Peacock Horticulture are carefully selected by this friendly awesome duo, so you won't find too many plants they carry at Home Depot or Lowe's. Also, although they have a nice selection of bamboo and palms, their intention is not to compete with the Big 3 local palm/bamboo nurseries.”

“Came in real quick today for some stuff when an employee named Jordy came up to my friend and I and helped us find everything we needed! We really appreciated how kind and helpful he was especially with the store closing soon.”

“I heard there was a new owner and I needed a chainsaw so I stopped by. My experience was awesome. The shop was clean, I was greeted as soon as I entered, and they had the exact product I needed and a reasonable price. Then Brett showed me the features of the saw and told me I could come back as often as I wanted if I had additional questions. I had a great experience and highly recommend.”

“Ordered some flowers for my best friend's mom's 70th birthday and they completely surpassed my expectations. The arrangement was exquisite! I ordered them from South Carolina and they were delivered same day. She loved them!”

“They have everything that you need from your yard to your kitchen or just some decorations for the yard.
It's hard to get help sometimes in a store like that.
However, if you know what you want, you can get it. Self checkout or have a team member ring you up and purchase your products...
They have stuff for all seasons. All projects, this is my go to place. They give you discounts if you're professional or veteran just ask...”

“First time I have been in that store. Found most of what I was looking for. There was no help in hardware, and was a little heckti ke. There was a young man helping and he was out of his element.
He was very kind.”
