From the moment I walked in the doors of the Pacific Ashtanga Shala, I was welcomed by Diana Christinson. Practicing yoga for 10 years, I felt the need to expand and grow in my practice. Not only physically, but also to understand the true practice of yoga, that involved breath work and an overall healthier body, mind and spirit! Not only is Diana extremely knowledgeable and educated, she is compassionate and REAL! Everyone at every level is welcomed and embraced. She has the tools for coaching you, guiding you and embracing you in her beautiful community at Pacific Ashtanga Yoga! I highly recommend Diana for her practice, her teachings for your Golden Journey (A personal transformation), along with her gift to always help others! I am grateful....Namaste!

I waited until I attended 4 classes before writing a review. I feel so lucky to have found this place ! My neighbor, who is one of the most humble, kind and generous people I have met treated me to my first class here. She credits her yoga practice for more than just a healthy body, but even for her generosity and her outlook on life. This is the best way I can introduce you what sits at the core of this yoga shala.Diana, the founder, and main instructor, has an extensive yoga background including study in Mysore, India, as well as a masters in psychology. After going to her classes, I not only have a good basic understanding of the Ashtanga primary sequence, but I feel many benefits from the teachings in eastern philosophy as well as the very strong focus on the breath. I would consider myself an intermediate yoga student with a diverse background in many types of yoga. But, I was new to Ashtanga. I felt very comfortable here from day 1 (ashtanga prep class). In the meantime, I have been practicing at other studios because I cant get to PA except for the weekends and while I am sure there are many good ones out there, some seem rather revenue focused and branded in a way that really takes away from what is really at the core of yoga practice. Not this place !If you are serious about your yoga practice and want to see a real transformation of body, mind, and spirit…I highly recommend this studio. But, please dont spread the word to just anyone…I would like to see it remain the small, local gem that it is !

Today I celebrate 2 years as a member of the amazing Pacific Ashtanga group. Diana‘s teachings and knowledge have transformed every aspect of my life, not just physical strength and flexibility. My mind is clearer and I feel more present than ever before. One of the greatest blessings of my life is being a member of Pacific Ashtanga Yoga. Thank you Diana and to every member of your dedicated team!

You know what Breathless means - you see something it takes your breath away... Well I am speechless, because Diana is in much the same way, is beyond words. She is such a rock, a mentor, a genuine "walking the walk" with us teacher. She is disciplined ( in a good way) and fun but always has her "teacher" hat on, absorbing and listening. She doesn't just lead a practice with you and adjust, she teaches you, from the inside out or outside in...philosophy in a contemporary way we can grasp and it becomes meaningful in our day, in our week, and overall in our life. The people make up the Shala, but it would never be without a trusted leader!

Pacific Ashtanga is an amazing place! There’s no place like that in an entire Universe... yoga, inspiration, breath practices, meditation on Thursday night, QuGong, Sound healing, amazing programs for children... I can’t list it all... come practice and see for yourself ♥️

Pacific Ashtanga is the best yoga Shala in Orange County. Diana and her students are blessed with being part of the Pattabhi Jois lineage. Diana also recently added a Wellness Center that is worth the visit!

I really wanted to love this yoga studio and was excited to try the Reiki Yoga class. After a long week, I craved some rejuvenation and relaxation and signed up for the $20 drop-in fee. Had I known that the studio sits atop a bar that blares super-loud live music which thumps through the entire class, I would have reconsidered. Maybe some people can tune out Guns N' Roses cover songs while meditating in savasana but I found the experience more stressful than soothing. There is no soundproofing or air conditioning. As someone who prefers to blend into the background of fitness classes, I was unnerved to realize I was the only person in attendance on that particular Sunday night. The lack of participants might (definitely) be due to the chaotic music seeping through the floorboards. I wish I had known before I spent money on a mostly negative experience. At least I would have known what I was getting into. I'm sure the morning classes are better but Pacific Ashtanga must realize the bar (Sunsets on PCH) has live music every weekend. A heads up would have been appreciated.

Pacific Ashtanga will always be home and Diana will always be my greatest influence as a practitioner and teacher on my path of yoga. Diana encompasses grace, presence and humility. Her passion for the practice is contagious and the sangha that has been created at PA through her incredible staff and dedicated practitioners is truly unique and special.

I can't say enough good things about Pacific Ashtanga and Diana. I've been practicing Ashtanga for about 3 years and was fortunate to start my practice with some very good teachers up in Los Angeles. When I moved, my LA teacher recommended Diana and so I went and gave it a try. To say the very least, it's a tremendously warm and welcoming place. The location itself is beautiful - overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Dana Point. I live in Newport Beach so getting to Dana Point is a 30-35 minute drive one way, but absolutely worth it. The yoga that Diana teaches is absolutely traditional Ashtanga - no frills or deviations from what was taught originally by patthabi Jois. As a teacher, Diana is really, really gifted. She has a strong but gentle demeanor and seems to intuitively know exactly what each student needs. Her teaching though far transcends just asana - she truly wants her students to find happiness and health and to pass along those blessings to others. I could really go on fit page after page singing the virtues of pacific Ashtanga. I am blessed that I was guided here and that I get to practice with Diana.
