The Thrift Station, a community-driven thrift store located in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Danville, has been supported by the Friends of Discovery since 1973. This all-volunteer organization relies on donations from the local community and offers a great selection of clothing, athletic gear, books, holiday decor, small furniture, toys, puzzles, games, linens, housewares, pet supplies, jewelry, golf clubs, bikes, and baseball and soccer gear. All proceeds from the store go to the Discovery Counseling Center, a local organization committed to providing affordable and high-quality mental health services to individuals and families. The Thrift Station is known for its great value, good selection of donated items, and friendly customer service, although some customers have noted that the volunteers at the donation drop-off area can be abrupt or rude at times. Overall, the Thrift Station is a valuable resource for the community, supporting an important cause while offering a wide range of gently used items at reasonable prices.
Our family is happy to support Thrift Station with both donations and as shoppers. It is volunteer run so sometimes imperfect but still a good cause in a great location.
