Yolo Basin Foundation offers engaging and educational experiences focused on bats and local wildlife. Their popular 'Bat walk and talk' events are held during the summer and fall, providing visitors with the chance to learn about bats through presentations, live bat displays, and observing bats fly out from under the freeway overpass at dusk. These events are enjoyed by families and individuals alike, with many noting how interesting and fun the experience is for all ages, including young children. The talks are often highly engaging, with some attendees mentioning that even the youngest kids stay captivated, especially when videos are provided as an alternative to the live presentation. Visitors are advised to bring warm clothes, as the area can get cold, and binoculars or folding chairs can enhance the experience. The foundation's guides and volunteers are friendly, knowledgeable, and create a welcoming atmosphere. Besides bats, the foundation also hosts events featuring ambassador animals, allowing close-up encounters. Overall, Yolo Basin Foundation is highly recommended for those interested in wildlife watching, birding, and learning about bats in a natural setting. The organization provides a valuable, affordable way to enjoy nature and support conservation efforts.
Love this place. My daughter is into Bats so having this place so near is a blessing. I highly encourage everyone to visit this place for birds and bats watching

Go! Bats are incredible and more important than regular folks realize. Most of this excursion occurs in your car, a tour with a walkie talkie. Ending up under a bridge watching thousands (or more) bats depart at dusk to feed their bellies. Go!
