“I needed some wheels for an old bike I had. Everywhere else in town wanted to sell me new wheels or really couldn't help me. Then I came to the Davis by collective and there was a super helpful staff person here, who was really thoughtful and helpful! We eventually found the wheels and he gave me a great price for them. I couldn't be more pleased, this is a great non-profit, a great bike shop if you're looking for older bikes and equipment, has great staff, and should be supported by the entire city. Definitely come here if you have an older bike issue!”

“What a WONDERFUL bookstore! And all sales benefit the Davis Library! We found several books we "meant to read" in the past...now we own them and can read them! Some great classics, a few travel books, and some incredible history books! The volunteer salesperson was also super-friendly and helpful! Make sure to pop in next time you are in downtown Davis!”

“The place is divided into two parts. One of them is the gallery where there were very beautiful works that change once in a while and in the other there is a shop with lots of beautiful works that you can look at and buy. Entrance was free and if you go up the stairs there are all kinds of beautiful paintings and other beautiful works.”

“This place is an awesome place. We get to have free scantrons during exam weeks, helped with diffeent questions and studying materials. I personally got helped from one of the staff since l am a transfer student and l am not yet familiar with the school. To all the ucd or incoming ucd students, please visit student community center once you are around. They are super helpful and willing to help so do not hesitate to come and ask!”

“We went to a bat talk and walk recently and it was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about bats and then went to see them fly out from under the freeway overpass at dusk. The kids had a blast! My only complaint was that there was not enough seating for everyone and the person giving the presentation wouldn't tolerate any sounds from young kids, even whispers would be called out. It's really hard for a bunch of kids to sit still and silent for 45 mins.”

“We enlisted Purple Tree Cafe to help cater a staff appreciation breakfast for my daughter's preschool. The baked goods were amazing, and the coffee and tea service was excellent. It's amazing to have vegan options and we had some wheat-free items, including almond biscotti. Kelsey was super helpful and communicated throughout the lead up to the event. Would highly recommend Purple Tree Cafe for any special brunch or breakfast occasion.”

“Stevie G was excellent to work and communicate with before the event...made the process painless! At the event, everyone loved him and had such a great time. With his expertise and talent, he was also able to increase our profit from the year before...worth it!”

“remarkably good pricing and even better quality. an absolutely essential stop for a summer barbecue or formal supper, with a rather unassuming onsite location yielding some of the best fresh meat i've had the pleasure of cooking!”

“No more consignment since September 2023, thrift only. As of February 2024, hours are reduced to Thursday through Saturday. I like that they are close to my house and benefit county mental health services.”
