We were fishing for kokanee. It was early and beautiful! We caught a small fish. We let it go. It didn't make it! We were upset about the waste. A bald eagle made use of the loss and swooped down and snatched it off the water... COOL!!!

This point is in the middle of the dam, so you can't stop or park your car. When you cross the dam, there is a parking space, so you can park your car and walk to view the dam. It's a place where you can enter the Bullards Bar trail, so please stop the car for a while and take a picture and have time to walk.If it doesn't rain, there are a lot of mosquitoes, so suggest to wear long sleeve and pants.

The lake is awesome. But if you are looking for a day use and beach area? This lake is not for you. We went to Collins for that.

My favorite lake of all time. Great for boating and the scenery can't be beat. Helps to know people that have property near the lake as it's not the easiest lake to access logistically. It's quite remote which is more of a positive than negative. Water is perfect temp and color. Lots of wildlife. Spectacular waterfalls.

Beautiful lake, so nice to see it full again. Plenty of boats for rent, and good amenities.

This boat cost $10,000.00 for the 7 days and nothing worked. We have rented this boat twice in the last 2 years. The AC never worked. It was terrible. The oven and the stove was so hot and stunk like gas. The boat is junk. I guess I will stay at the Four Seasons next year.

The marina boat ramp at Bullards is way easier to launch from than the other one. there is ample mooring space, and the line to launch or reloading is shorter. plus they have a cute little marina store.

Camping is Crowded, Loud, Generators, Bears and Mosquitos. Their are many other places to camp in California that are still idyllic.
