Downey Supermarket is a fairly small, convenient neighborhood store. It is well-stocked with lots of items for a quick run or last-minute ingredients. The store is noted for its excellent fresh meat counter, with great pork ribs, chorizo, ranchera, costillitas, carnitas, and chicharron considered worth the price. They also hold a big weekend cookout BBQ. Their homemade salads and guacamole are fantastic, and they carry specific items like Juanita's menudo. A promotion offers three free tacos with a purchase over $15. However, the variety can be limited and some items, like dairy, have sometimes been expired, though staff address this. Some customers find non-meat items a little pricey and note that using EBT can be difficult. Overall, it is considered a good, alright supermarket for a quick trip.
I always enjoy shopping here! The produce section is fresh and well-stocked, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Plus, their sales make it easy to find great deals on my favorite items!

They didn't' have the soda we were looking for. We had to go across the street to the gas station to buy 2liter soda
