“You won’t want to leave! We were looking for a quick getaway from Sparks, NV and decided on Downieville. The Carriage House Inn, or CHI, was highly rated for good reason.

The love and care that has been put into their guests having a perfect experience is obvious the second you arrive. You are greeted by the friendliest staff and you will find your personalized envelope with everything you need to kick off your stay.

We stayed in the Feather Suite and it was spacious with a nice welcome book that tells you about the staff, the local restaurants, sites to see nearby and the number to text if you need anything at all.

They do host a happy hour a couple doors down at Boomtown and depending on when you are staying, you may catch trivia night.

Coffee and breakfast are pretty much right outside your door. Everywhere we went had #vegan options too.

This location is incredible. You can fall asleep to the sound of the river or sit out on the patio to relax. Everything is just a few steps from your door. We walked right across the street to Jadaa’s restaurant for lunch one of the days we were here.

The town closes up fairly early do you don’t need to worry about noise. You will get the best nights sleep here.”

“I had to grab a hotel room last minute while doing a job up in Downieville, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They even went out of their way to give me a toothbrush and toothpaste, which really saved me after a long day. The room was spotless, comfortable, and honestly better than I expected for a quick stay. Highly recommend if you need a clean, friendly place on short notice”

“This was a great experience, and I will definitely tell my friends :) Super rustic. It's in the middle of nowhere virtually, with no cell service; great if you want to just spend time with nature and in the moment. The closest big grocery store is an hour away, so I recommend grabbing food beforehand! I hope to make it a family tradition of booking a cabin here, thank you!”

“Absolutely gorgeous. We visited in early June. This past winter's serious snow has resulted in the Yuba River really raging with a beautiful sound. Our cabin, "High Commission," is pretty much right on the river so you can sit on the deck with your morning coffee, listening to the river. Our cabin was well set up, and the property is wonderful. We had some rain while we were there, so we didn't do a fire at the communal campfire area, but we did hike around a bit based on tips from the friendly staff, and it's beautiful. Plenty of awesome stuff to do in the area, too, no matter what you're into. I'm into mountain biking, dirt biking and hiking, so I'll probably be back a bunch of times!”
