One of the best Safeways around. Incredible wine selection and the store is very clean with wide aisles. Great hours. Safeways can be unpleasant. The ones in Alameda, Hayward, Castro Valley - I don't enjoy going to them. Its more a reflection of those cities than it is the store. They are crowded or deserted or older or whatever. Bottom line - just not a place I want to spend any extra time in if I don't have to. Wine selection is incredible. So many different varieties - I think they try to stock more unusual bottles or bottles that might not be available in nearby stores. There is a lot of thought put into the selection. The store is newer - remodeled not all that long ago - and is very clean. If I remember right there is some updating near the one door currently. Removing a self check out or adding one - I'm not sure. But they are improving this location and giving it attention. Some Safeways I've been to haven't had any love in 25 years still. Great hours - check yourself but 11:30pm and it was still open. There aren't that many stores that do that anymore. Alameda used to be open late - or even 24 hours? ? before the pandemic but no more. Big thanks to the police department and how this is a well run city. If all Safeways were like this one I don't think that I'd be so inclined to go out of my way to a WF as much as I do.

I ordered the "cooked" pork ribs from the deli and it came out a bit raw. I showed the picture of the raw area of the pork ribs from the deli. The deli manager wasn't too receptive of my picture and got a bit defensive but did assure me that she would contact the meat provider to figure things out. Let's see. Looking forward to the update and until then here's what a pic of the ribs inside !

I went to this Safeway to get 3 gifts cards- $50, $50 and $100. They turned up giving me 3 cards worth $50, $0 and $0. I reached out to this Safeway store and they asked me to call toll free number and create a ticket.This happened in Nov 23rd 2023 and now 3 months later nothing has happened on that ticket. I called up the number multiple times and no one picks to answer your question on the gift card line. What a scam!Such a shame that company like Safeway will handle these issues like this (when we know they screwed it up).Do not get gifts cards from this store- cashiers have no idea what they are doing. Even if you do please double check if the card value is correct.I am now going to open a fraud case with my Bank and ask for refund.Never going to this store again.

Franco at the hot bar department- exceptional service and attentive to customers. He noticed his co workers were dismissive of customer's waiting in the line, he took initiated and stepped in. It's unfortunate the rest of the 4 people were dismissive and avoid making eye contact. No one helped him. I hope he receives recognition from store director

Michael checker at night is horrible;grumpy and acts like your the inconvenience. I avoid going this location at all costs. I used to work at Corporate before they moved to Boise.

Hey Ive been shopping here for about 10 years now and i wanted to send a special shout out to the guys in the meat section in the back. Eden and Theo specifically. They always take great care of me and Eden makes the best Caribbean Seafood ceviche on the planet! Even Saved me a container of it because he knew they would sell out fast. Im literally in everyday as I like my meat and seafood fresh, and just left there and felt the need to put a spotlight on those guys. The whole team is like family!

Whoever is running this place is running it wrong in so many different ways i will never shop at another chain grocery store again this one has proven that even the best Safeways are ran horribly and they do not care if the management is running the place into the ground NOT TO MENTION THE MIS TREATMENT OF THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!! please shop from a store that has a little more dignity and pride than this one especially to treat your own workers like that i am disgusted

Not a bad option for groceries. I go at least once a week and rarely have I seen it very busy. Not a big store so options are limited. Produce is generally in good condition. Self-checkout can be annoying sometimes with lack of functioning registers & employee support. Rarely do I see more than two "normal" checkout lines open. A lot of the "freshly" made sandwiches, cookies, etc., don't seem to sell well and will be sitting there until they reach their "sell by" date. Note: they close the doors on the right-side entrance every night at like 9 PM or something, so everyone has to use the left side to enter/exit. That is kind of annoying when you aren't aware, but not a huge deal.

There should be the zero star option, I received a wrong order from another person and the supposed manager or person in charge on Sunday, September 17 at 7:00 pm far from offering me a solution or at least an apology for the mistake they made , in a rude and childish manner, hung up on me the moment I asked her to tell me her name, she only said that she was the person in charge and the people who made the mistake had already left. When I asked her why the online site says PU orders say they are open until 8 pm, she was very rude (as she seems to be all the time ) and with no apparent politeness she replied: Yes, but not today! Really???I asked her if she could help then and she flatly said NOT! wait until tomorrow or keep that order. (Of course not) I just wanted my correct order. Just that!…Definitely in many years of being a customer she had never dealt with such a rude, ill-mannered and wild person.How can this kind of people could be hired in a supervisor position? Don't they receive training? Why do they hate their job?Well that lady in particular, I must say there are some nice ones in that store too. It's a shame that the person who is supposed to be in charge doesn't have the slightest education and service attitude. I feel sorry for her. She should look for a job where she doesn't have to serve or help others because she obviously doesn't.I will take my complaint to corporate because it is not fair that these types of things happen and they do nothing to remedy it.

The only reason I used to go to this Safeway was because it was convenient. People who work there are always in a bad mood for some reason. I don't like using self check out lanes, because I believe that it takes jobs from people, but I find myself using them there because the people who work there are always unwelcoming. Obviously I cant do anything about peoples attitudes, but damn, fake a smile every once in a while. Another reason why I went to this Safeway location was to use their Western Union services. But nine times out of 10 they couldn't help me with my money transfer. Something always happened. "That person is on break." That person is on break every time I go there at different times at any given day? "The system is down." " let me call somebody to help you." No one would help me. So as of last week I stopped going to this Safeway. If you have a service and it's not available half of the time, why but "provide" that service? Or have a schedule. "Western Union Wednesdays" haha i mean... something. I hope this review helps to improve their customer service. It probably won't, but I don't care because I'm not going there anymore.

This is literally one of the worst safe ways I have ever been to no matter what I am here for that have to do with customer service. I waited at the alcohol cabinet for about 10 minutes after I push the button, and then I finally went to go get somebody and they never showed up. When I asked somebody else for help, he then proceeded to do something else and we had to wait again.

The manager of self checkout and the registers can’t handle her job. The gal with glasses and always has her hair in a bun and is short treats all her guests like they’re stupid if they need help because YOUR machines don’t work. Hire someone that can handle it and will put the guest first. Horrible experience each time I’ve had to interact with her. Coming from someone that worked at the busiest target in the company, it’s not that hard to not be rude.

My Neighborhood Safeway here in Dublin Tassajara location is the best .. I live in between both locations but I have to say the experience here is the greatest. Lexi the Store Manager is always kind to me and my Mother and always greets us whenever we come in .. she is always there to answer questions and keeps this store operating effectively. You can see her staff appreciates her too as it’s evident that she wears many hats. Keep up the Great work and Thank you for always being so kind to us!Monique
