It's not easy to find the entrance. For some reason the entrance door is tinted, and it's dark.

Every time I come here, I get yelled at by the workers (never the security, they are always nice). They are so disorganized that they get mad at me for just trying to browse. I was trying to look at their pokemon vending machine and was yelled at to not leave through the door nearby. The worker then rolled his eyes at me. I dread coming here but it’s so close to my house. :(

In the past several years I have gotten food poisoning twice from the deli and my son many years ago got it too. I'd never eat anything from their deli again. The employees chased me out saying I was stealing when I was absolutely not stealing. Rather then respectfully asking me to leave . They started hitting carts making a ton if noise. The customers were appalled at these actions and how dare they embarrass me like that. I am not a thief but I feel like going into luckys and taking the most expensive liquor and anything that would cost a lot and dumping it right before I walk out. And that's not stealing by the way. Luckys I have ptsd and to have men in your store employed by you is unacceptable and next time someone does something to me in that matter again I will defend myself. I cant even go into grocery now without a panic attack. Thanks Luckys!

One of my favorite stores. Always clean, neat aisles , well stocked, ample parking and conservative staff.

I visited this store (1000 El Cerrito Plaza, El Cerrito, CA 94530) on September 5 and it was one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had. At about 10:55 p.m., an associate and a security guard rushed through a purchase for my handicapped friend, because she would have taken longer — they completed it for her.
When I walked in, I grabbed a cart because I needed two gallons of water. Immediately I was harassed: two employees stared me down at the entrance, and the tall security guard twice told me, “You better start running.” When I asked for help, an associate snapped “aisle 17” aggressively.
I only wanted two gallons of water and a small pack of toilet paper, but because of the way I was being treated, I felt so uncomfortable I left one gallon in the cart and just bought one. I even abandoned the cart in the aisle. The worst part came when I went to check out at 11:00 p.m. sharp: there was nobody at the register — because the cashier was actually behind me, following me around the store. He then said things like, “I’ve been looking for you” and “Excuse me, do I know you?” which was extremely inappropriate and unsettling.
To make matters worse, when I declined membership, the cashier mocked me about discounts and coupons. No customer should ever be followed through a store, harassed by security, or mocked at checkout. This was humiliating, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I will never return to this location, and I hope management takes this complaint seriously.

It could be a good store. They have some very good products that some are priced fairly but some are overpriced. But the most important thing is customer service which I see numerous complaints about it in the reviews. Except once, the rest of the times the cashiers don't do any greetings, don't look at you, don't say thank you, no nothing no acknowledgement or appreciation, so It’s me that say hi and thank you, receiving a stone-faced reluctant hi back.
I don't blame them much, cus usually the staff treat customers how they've been treated by their employers. I'm not saying it's right, but it happens. And if that's not the case, the employer should do something about it. I see they're usually short staffed which could lead to the exhaustion of the staff and how they interact with customers. I would've gone there more but now I only go if I have to.
