Doggy Styles Grooming Salon
1864 Calaveras Dr, El Dorado HillsOur GSD/Boxer mix got a wonderful bath and nail trim today! This was our first visit, and the ladies working there were very friendly. She was finished in an hour and I was given a call right away to come pick her up. She even smells great and got a cute little trick-or-treat bandana. Price for the bath and trim were reasonable and worthwhile. I will definitely be coming back.

They made helpful recommendations without being pushy and did exactly what I requested for a specific rabies certificate format. The service pricing was reasonable and comparable to Amazon for products. I’d been emailing them about international travel documentation and they were very clear and helpful with that as well. I highly recommend!

Would give 5 stars, but maybe every 7th time we order fries they're not piping hot & I can't stand fries that aren't fresh. Not really into their chicken sandwiches personally, especially since we go to Mom & Pop Chicken Shop in Cameron Park, but in a pinch I'd eat one if I had to.
They're not using an acidic solution to wipe their tables & floors, so there's that oily build up that happens due to the deep fryer nature of their foods, so it's not pleasant to sit there. It smells of the old oils & the tables are sticky. We usually order to go & sit in our car due to this, but as long as they don't change their quality of food this will continue to be one of our favorite fry spots!
Also, we have only had good to great experiences with their employees thus far!

931 Lassen Ln, El Dorado HillsI love coming to Proxy when I'm in the area and need 2 things: a delicious latte + a comfy and quiet work/study space. The coffee shop is located on a church campus, but it's easy to spot from the main road. You order with the people working inside the parked Airstream and then you have the choice of enjoying your drink at one of the tables available outside, or by walking into the lobby space adjacent to the Airstream. I love finding a space inside and have spent a few hours at a time here, working undisturbed on various things. The beautiful interior makes it hard to leave. I have a couple cons, though. One, it's hard to enjoy this place on bad weather days because you're waiting for your drink to be made while standing in the cold or wind. Two, I wish there were more food items available for purchase besides a few cookies. But don't let these things deter you - come check out Proxy and fall in love!

2085 Vine St, El Dorado HillsWe had lunch at CKnights in El Dorado Hills, I took my mom there the day after Mother’s Day. It was a Monday lunch, so the restaurant was very quiet...we were actually the only table... but that didn’t take away from the experience at all.
Service was excellent from start to finish. Really attentive, polished, and welcoming without being overbearing.
I started with a non-alcoholic lavender blueberry ginger spritz, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of the meal: fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully made. We also shared the artichoke appetizer, which was very well executed with great sauces and solid flavor throughout.
For entrées, I had the filet mignon with a blue cheese crust, and it was cooked perfectly. High-quality cut, handled exactly how you’d hope. My mom had the ribeye, and it was just as solid; well-prepared and flavorful.
The only real downside is price. The steaks are a la carte, and at lunch it adds up quickly—easily in that $60–$80 (for the meat only) range before sides. With everything, our lunch landed close to $250-$300 (I dont remember the exact amt) after tip, even without dessert or cocktails. The quality is there, but it’s definitely on the higher end for a midday meal. It would be cool to offer a 4oz filet with an arugula salad for $50 for lunch, as an example.
That said, the interior is beautiful, the food is excellent, and the service matches the setting. We’d absolutely go again—just more prepared for it to feel like a full dinner-level experience, even at lunch.

If I can get out of a work dinner tomorrow I will be back.,.heck I might come back to the area from southern Nevada just for the salmon…

If you're lucky enough to snag the bone marrow pasta before they run out, do it; it was easily the highlight of the meal. The wine list is decent enough, though nothing life-changing. My only major gripe is the service—it is extremely slow. We spent a lot of time waiting for our meals. Go for the vibes and that pasta, but don't expect a quick exit.

2201 Francisco Dr #140-564, El Dorado HillsI had to surrender my cat to Fat Kitty City Humane Society. This was a very difficult decision for me however I knew when I arrived and met with Christine that I had made the right decision.
The staff and volunteers provide pure dedication and love to their cats which makes this a very special place and gives these kitties a chance to live a great life in beautiful surroundings.
Thank you, Christine, the owners, the staff, volunteers and the vet who provided special care to Bella. She will forever live in my heart, and I will always be grateful to this amazing organization for giving my girl a chance to live the rest of her life surrounded by caring individuals and other kitties.
