First time renting a car, the customer service here is very good. Logan booked me for pickup and he was very helpful. Then after when I dropped off Roz helped me and she was very nice and friendly and very attentive to my needs! The cleaner needs a little work though for the cars, but all in all it wasn’t a bad experience, it was actually good!

By far the worst experience I've ever experienced i was left on the phone for over 40 minutes . I was told I would be getting back my deposit they actually took almost 500 dollars for my account saying my insurance didn't cover the days i extended mind you I paid that day of the extension i even returned the vehicle two days early.

I’m writing this because I shared the with the employee. Hertz used to be the top of the line rental car. I set itself apart from Avis, Budget, Dollar. You paid the extra dollars for a clean car, name on the board, etc.
I rent to drive Uber mostly at this location, but I’m eating as an overall score for several of the locations in the East Bay Area, CA.
Car selection, dirty cars, nothing exclusive about Hertz anymore.
The employees at this particular station are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s their product that has taken a nose dive. Hertz did NOT do a great job at sustaining exclusivity and high ranking car rentals
And UBER count your days! As an Uber driver, UBER typically will give a voucher to go to the rental car to pick up the vehicle, but every-time I chose the station, it did NOT apply it so I had to pay anyway.

Logan was amazing in assisting me with my rental when I ran out of options at a different rental company that was also in the area. Although vehicles were limited due to high demand and bookings, Logan was able to assist me with a vehicle for my road trip. However, the vehicle traumatized me on the road so I'm taking a star out, sorry guys.

Be ready to be patient as there is generally only one maybe two people at the desk...if you're in a rush maybe think twice..though they are the best and very efficient

I had booked and paid for a rental car online in advance, but upon arriving at the location, I was informed—after waiting for over two hours—that I could not complete the rental due to my use of a Chime credit card. This restriction was never mentioned during the booking process or anywhere clearly visible in-store.
When I asked for clarification, an employee named Logan went to the back and retrieved a printed notice stating that Chime cards are not accepted. This was the first time I was made aware of this policy. Had this information been disclosed upfront, I could have made alternate arrangements.
During my time waiting, I also observed both representatives pressuring customers into purchasing additional insurance and prepaying for fuel, even after the customers had clearly declined. Despite the inconvenience I faced, the only form of compensation I was offered was a waiver for the additional driver fee—which did not come close to making up for the wasted time and frustration.
This experience was unprofessional and disappointing. I urge your company to make all payment restrictions prominently clear.

Place seems very scammy. They try to nickel and dime you of every single thing.
They asked where I’m traveling to, how many people in car, what are my plans. I was thrown off by all the questioning.
They also asked who my additional driver is in relation to me and I said friend. They were going to charge $15 for a friend to be added. They outed me and I had to disclose they were my domestic partner to remove the fee. The so-called agent said that every rental place charges the fee which is not true.
They also don’t do courtesy early pickups.
They push me to prepay for gas.
I wouldn’t come back unless I have to.

SCAM. Don't rent from this place or Hertz they will accuse you of damaging the car and try to get money from innocent people. They will bring up anything that they could and accuse you for damaging and will try to get money in any ways possible. Go to some reputed companies. They also charged me extra from what I was originally quoted for.

They overbooked and didn't have a car for me even though I prepaid. The staff were helpful but could not do anything as they have no control over how many cars get booked.

Had the opportunity to meet Roz, the Assistant Branch Manager at Hertz, El Sobrante - what an incredible steward for the entire Hertz company. Made me into a more loyal Hertz customer and I will definitely be coming back there for when we need to rent a car next.

I got double charged for fuel AND a toll charge. On top of waiting way too long to get my van.

It doesn’t matter what car you ordered, you won’t get it. And they try to change rates on you within an hour. Not to mention crazy wait times. Car rentals in the Bay Area are terrible but this was my most disappointing experience.
