The Encinitan Hotel & Suites offers a great and convenient location near Coast Highway, just off the I-5. It is close to shops, restaurants, the beach, parks, and activities, with good walkability. The view of the city and ocean is amazing, especially from ocean view rooms. Rooms are described as clean, tidy, spacious, comfortable, comfy, homely, and not fancy but nice, with comfortable and peaceful beds. Some rooms may have freeway noise. The staff and service are great, very kind, helpful, friendly, welcoming, and phenomenal. Amenities are noted, including a kitchenette in some suites. The breakfast is average. There is a mention of a daily incidentals fee. Overall, it is considered a top local place and a great option for both business and leisure, with many guests planning to return.
Room and bed were comfy and spacious. It wasn't fancy, but everything was nice, location was great for me, and service was good.

Staff were awesome. Lots of amenities. Please make it clear that the $15 incidentals fee is PER DAY! After a week, that adds up. What are incidentals anyway?

The rooms are average at best. The restaurant is only open for a few hours each morning, and maid service is non-existent. Definitely not worth the money!
