BEAUTIFUL LOOKING STORE ! Good to see Trek moved on from the very small store up the road to this huge location. I can't even remember what used to be here. My wife and I were riding our Trek Verve+ 3 hybrid eBikes on Hwy 101 through coastal Encinitas on Wednesday afternoon. We knew the Trek store that took over the Nytro Multisport site early in 2022 had closed months ago...gee it wasn't open long. I'm sure it proved way too small to be a viable location. My wife has been pointing out this new store closer to Philz Coffee for weeks so I thought it was time to have a look inside. A friendly Trek employee greeted me the moment I stepped through the front entrance. I asked how long they have been open...2 months was his reply. The interior looks really great....like a warehouse size space with lots of color. We bought our Trek Verve + 3 eBikes at the San Marcos store which is quite a way from our home in Solana Beach. In fact the customer service there is so professional that we take our eBikes there for regular servicing rather than the Solana Beach location. We will have to think about this location !

Staff are always very friendly and ready to answer any questions. Greg and Austin in the service department have saved me too many times to count. Sticking with trek just because of this location.

Brought in my 4-year-old’s little red Woom bike after a tumble. Chain was noisy, brakes were originally fine.
• Tech couldn’t figure out the chain, but offered to “freshen up” the brakes and oil the chain for $38.
• when I picked it up: chain still noisy, brakes now dragging ….
• I was like “fine I’ll do it myself”. At home: 5 minutes with a hex key + removing a plastic chain guard = problem solved.
So:
• Them = $38, an hour, bike worse.
• Me = ten minutes, free, bike rideable again.
They were friendly, but the actual service felt like paying to break something that wasn’t broken. Not being able to figure out the chain that took me (a complete mechanical layman) 5 minutes to notice is one thing. Messing up both working brakes (which is their only job) is … like a chef burning water

The first time I went about a month ago, I had the brakes on my S-Works Stumpjumper bled. Unfortunately, the work was done so poorly that the brakes were unsafe to ride. In the end, it was more cost-efficient for me to replace the brakes entirely myself.
The second visit was a very different experience. Austin did an excellent Level 2 tune-up on my S-Works Tarmac SL4. He was thorough, professional, and even identified a crank recall that I hadn’t been aware of, which led to a safe and warranted replacement. This was the level of service I had hoped for from the start.
This week, I brought in my S-Works Tarmac SL6 for a tune-up. I specifically asked for Austin to do the work and mentioned that a firmware update was needed because the rear derailleur was skipping a gear. I was assured both requests could be handled. However, when I picked up the bike, Austin had not worked on it, the firmware hadn’t been updated, the gear was still skipping, the chain had not been cleaned, and the brakes were untouched. It left me wondering what was actually included in the tune-up service. I did point out the firmware/gear issue before leaving, and they did take care of it.
Overall, I’ve experienced both ends of the spectrum here—from unsafe work to excellent, attentive service. Unfortunately, the inconsistency makes it difficult to trust the shop fully.

24 hr bike rental, Madone with 105 and 32 tires rode great, well tuned and fit, service was excellent and timely; all around, a great experience. 32 mile r/t to Mt. Soledad, 23 mile r/t to Coastside, spectacular ocean views, good hills, perfect weather.

Had a good experience getting my bike repaired at this shop. Bob helped me and was very communicative, transparent, and helpful in identifying needed repairs and future maintenance. Pricing was upfront, communication was thorough when 1 thing came up during repairs, and turnaround was quick. The shop did a great job and I am happy to have my bike back quickly and be back on the trails!
