Dave (the owner) has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I rarely write negative reviews, but the amount of times I’ve had a negative experience because of Dave makes me feel obligated to say something. He’s made sarcastic, backhanded, and passive aggressive comments every time he’s helped me. He also does this weird thing where he pushes boxes back at me across the counter - it feels like some sort of attempt at a power move and it’s very weird. Overall, he’s just very impolite and unprofessional, and I hope that can change in the future.
I have nothing against any of the other employees at the store, they’re actually pretty nice. Honestly, I just feel bad that they have to put up with this guy every single day.
For anyone reading this, please take your business elsewhere. The store makes a profit when they process Amazon returns, and I just don’t feel right supporting such a poorly run franchise. I highly recommend going to the other UPS store off of El Camino and Town Center, across from Home Depot (1084 N El Camino Real Ste B, Encinitas, CA 92024). They are actually polite, professional, and you will probably be helped 3x faster there.
For Dave, please listen to the complaints in your reviews and try to improve. I truly hope that you can change your attitude and have a successful business.

I entered the store a little stressed about the project I was working on, the team was so helpful that I left there feeling like I had accomplished something!

Store exists. That's the only reason for 1 star. The owner operator (Dave) was incredibly rude. Everyone in line was in shock and clearly bothered by awful customer service.

Honestly, the owner and his granddaughter are incredibly rude. The service is quick, but the friendliness and customer service is severely lacking.

Incredibly rude employee today, who I’ve encountered in the past. He belittled me in front of other waiting customers because I didn’t put a piece of tape on an Amazon return, and then when I was flustered trying to move onto the next package, he continued to mansplain to me what my responsibilities are as a customer vs his as an employee. I am 8 months pregnant and this man gave me such raging anxiety I burst into tears getting into my car. If you clearly hate customer service, this is not the job for you. I will not be returning.

I’m amazed I’ve never felt the need to give a UPS store one star until today. Feels like the owner thinks his attitude is smarter or more charming than it is. Go anywhere else if you can.
EDIT: Gave them another two stars because the package did get to where it was going, to their credit. Just don’t understand why the interactions at this one are so weird. It’s a total non-issue at other stores, and you can tell by other reviews there’s a pattern here.

I would recommend not using this location. The staff is consistently unhelpful and even rude at times. And like clockwork there are always issues (e.g., the Internet being down). Save yourself the hassle and go to the next closest UPS store.

I would never do business with UPS after my experience with this UPS store. Could not provide basic information and was extremely rude and dismissive for no reason at all. I wouldn't trust them with any of my packages and I don't know why anybody would when there are much better options. Absolutely pathetic and disgusting!

I tried to do a simple Amazon return. The guy asked me what was in it when I told him I don’t think that’s part of Amazon‘s policy. He was rude to me and made a snarky remark. All three of the employees were somewhere between rude and odd. Obviously the bad reviews are for a reason. Will not go back for any reason

Amazing to see owner Dave /UPS working on Sunday alone with no UPS stores opening in Carlsbad and Encinitas.
Fast and efficient. Took him less than 1 minute to process my Amazon return. That's a world record! We should give credits where credits are due. Thanks Dave!
You will be my loyal UPS customer from now on.. Neighbors, next time when you come in, give him a big hug!!
