“I recently had a comically bad day where everything broke or stopped working. It all crescendoed with my car starting to throw lights at me. I was recommend Down to Earth Auto by a local shop on the main strip who were booked out. The guy at the front who recommended me said “I’d send my mother there”.
When I tell you the people here were the best, I couldn’t mean it more. They were very attentive, listening to what was going on and didn’t brush me aside when I told them what I thought it could be (any other girl with a car knows what im talking about). They quoted me well and got the main problem fixed within an hour at a good price. Unfortunately the body shop that redid the paint from the last owner painted over the grounding wire so there were some underlying other problems and I had to leave the car to be inspected.
Then of course I caught norovirus and felt horrible letting these guys know I couldn’t come in to grab my car but would pay any fee for leaving it there. They reassured me that there wouldn’t be a fee, my car was safe behind their locked gate, and it was no problem to leave it over the weekend no charge. Picked my car up on Monday and she sounds great!

I called a week ago a day before the 4th of July and explain how my 2007 Highlander had been making a tiny bit of vibration noise when I stopped at a stoplight, and it was something very minor, but I like to take my vehicle in whenever it sounds even a little bit different, plus I'm on a road trip far from home so I wanted to get it checked out for peace of mind, and the gal who answered the phone (who is an angel and was so nice on the phone and in person) told me that the next day they were open (which was today) I could just call them up whenever it was convenient for me, and bring it in and they would look at it.
So I made my way over there today and though they were all hard at work Jason graciously started the car up and listened to it for a few minutes and then even popped the hood and looked around and gave me great clarity and peace of mind about what was likely the problem - which turned out to not be a problem at all and something that wasn't a pressing concern - but I was assuming the worst with motor mounts or something else, and he inspected it for a good 5 minutes and also gave me advice on how to clean the throttle body myself and so I can't think these folks enough for taking their time on short notice to not only take a look at it but also actually give me advice on how to do it myself once I'm back home, and didn't even charge me anything for their expertise.
Just some stand-up awesome, solid honest folks. I never got the gal's name but I really appreciate her kindness and can't thank Jason enough!!
Also, the whole shop just has a great vibe to it, and my only regret is I never got to pet the mascots that were there (I think the two dogs were hanging out with the kind gal behind the counter, but I couldn't see them).”
“I am a single women who was looking for break pads rodars calibers for an older truck. I had taken my truck to another shop first because I thought that this was a standard job that most shops do for about the same price. I was extremely wrong about this. The firSt shop was asking 3200.00 dollars. I took it to another shop that said they would do the same work for 1000.00 dollars less. My father who lives across the country explained to me what I should be paying and told me I would be foolish to pay this. I found Wayne from a friend and called him. He quoted me a number much less and wound up doing the same work for less then he quoted me and all together for 2000.00 dollars less. I can't even began to understand this. My father who is a good mechanic said that's an honest number take my truck back there and have him do all the other little things I want done. I will do this. This is I believe the second review I have ever written. I just want to thank Wayne as much as I can.”
“My family was involved in a minor traffic collision this week whilt traveling through Eureka. I made a call to Myrtletown to see if they could help get us on the road again.
These guys were great. They pulled our bumper out of our tire, change our tire, and got us back on the road.
In these days of less than kind people these mechanics were kind, helpful, and generous with their time.”

“Can’t say enough about how happy we are with this place. We had a new engine in our 05 Dodge and it was throwing all kinds of codes. He took us in immediately and spent over an hour before he found pinched and corroded wires going to the AC. He spliced in a new wire that came from one of his old cores (5.9 Cummins) and sent us on our way to see our son in Chico . After a 7 hour flawless drive we made it over many mountain passes without any issues. These guys know trucks and diesel engines. If you need a truck fixed or upgraded you won’t find a better shop period.”

“A couple of the mechanics pulled my wrangler out of the Samoa sand dunes. I slipped into a ditch and was stuck at a 31° angle with one wheel in the air at sunset. Quick and fantastic service with great prices for a tow in that situation.
I saw they worked for this auto shop and I booked an appointment online. When delivering the car it turns out they weren't taking appointments today but they kept my appointment and took my car in for the weekend.
There is a shuttle option I signed up for, however with them technically being closed the shuttle wasn't running. They offered to close up the front of the shop and shuttle me back to Arcata. I had a friend who could come pick me up, but I was still grateful for the offer.
Super appreciative for this company and looking forward to updating this review with the outcome on Monday. Fingers crossed for not too much damage.”

“Chat GPT send me to the wrong automotive location, so I ended up here, and I walked in to outside area where the owner was fixing up a vehicle, and even though he was hard at work on a big truck and talking with another customer, I explained how I went to the wrong place, and I could tell he was about to offer to check out the vehicle but since I already made an appointment elsewhere I ended up going there, but had a conversation with him and his customer for a few minutes and he was very helpful and a genuinely good guy, and I can tell people's character in about a minute, because I've been around a lot of dysfunctional people, and I would bring my car here anytime to trust this man do the work, because I can tell he's an honest stand-up American.
