RCEA is being paid for doing nothing. ALL outages and repair emergencies are handled by PG&E. Where do you even generate power? Are you using the old PG&E plant Rex Bohn got reactivated, which is all that kept our power on last fire season? What, other than add to the size of our bills do you actually do?

The Redwood Coast Energy Authority is a local government Joint Powers Agency whose members include the County of Humboldt; the Cities of Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka, Ferndale, Fortuna, Rio Dell, and Trinidad; and the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District.
The purpose of RCEA is to develop and implement sustainable energy initiatives that reduce energy demand, increase energy efficiency, and advance the use of clean, efficient and renewable resources available in the region for the benefit of the Member agencies and their constituents.
Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) administers Humboldt County’s Community Choice Energy program. Simply put, we’re buying greener, more locally produced electricity and feeding it into the grid.
