About International Bird Rescue
International Bird Rescue is a global organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured, ill, and orphaned wild aquatic birds. Since 1971, it has responded to over 250 oil spills and wildlife emergencies, caring for more than 160,000 birds across six continents. With centers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Anchorage, the organization focuses on emergency response, rescue, and scientific research. It offers volunteer opportunities in a supportive environment and works to inspire wildlife conservation and advocacy. Although sometimes hard to find, Bird Rescue is highly appreciated for its critical work in helping waterbirds and engaging with the public.

This morning, My husband and I rescued a brown pelican that was just standing on the walkway at the Vallejo marina. We brought him here and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about pelicans. I named him Gary, and am so glad that they will care for him.

My husband and I came across a seagull, hit by a car on a busy street, with a badly broken wing. We are so grateful for the International Bird Rescue for taking in this bird. They are available 7 days a week, including holidays! 🩷
