“I wanted a bottle of Etter Poire Brandy. It wasn't available at the big box liquor stores, nor at local shops I visited. I found it online, but the needed it for a fast-approaching event, and both the shipping time and costs deterred me.

I asked the folks on Facebook, and someone recommended RoCo. In fact, they tagged Roco and he contacted me.

He ordered it and had it in his shop 2 days later, and priced the same as online!

A couple of months later, I wanted Crossfire Hurricane Reserve Rum. No one had it locally, but RoCo came through again.

And again, he got it quickly, and for the same as I could get it online.

There was no minimum order, either.

That's the kind of service the world used to have! Try that at the big box places.

I want to buy from local small businesses whenever possible, keeping my dollars in the community, but the businesses have to do their part, too.

“Visited the BevMo near Folsom after work and was impressed with how well everything was laid out. Even though the store carries a large variety of drinks, it didn’t feel confusing or cluttered. The aisles were clearly labeled and checkout was fast. I also appreciated that the staff greeted customers but didn’t hover. Sometimes you just want to browse at your own pace. Good selection and a comfortable atmosphere.”

“Oh I luv World Market. They have super cool merchandise. They are a chain retail shop specializing in imports and domestic home furnishings, decor, housewares, apparel, gifts, and imported food. The imported food is my favorite section.

Right now the shop is loaded with Easter items (basket, candy, toys, home decor) perfect to create that special Easter basket and decorate your home.

The food section has a selection of coffee, tea, jams, cookies, snacks, candy, sauces, and dry goods from around the world. To name a few... they had frankfurters in glass jars from Germany; hazelnut spread from 5 different countries including Spain; English tea from united ted Kingdom Sri Lanka; different varieties of mochi from Taiwan; and variety of cookies from various countries. Pricing is comparable and some are cheaper than the domestic counterparts at my local grocery store. This section is in the back left corner of the shop.

I also like their selection of furniture ... lamps, sofas, dining sets. The various styles are farmhouse, bohemian, modern contemporary, and mid century. Pricing is not outrageous.

The shop in Folsom is clean, organized. Staff are kind. Like all other shops, gone are the days where extra staff walk the floor providing assistance. If assistance is needed, just go to the cashier at the front”

I've been here for a 3 week visit from Southern California and been to the store several times. So much helpfullness! Such great food.
