“Entering the room was simply stunning - picture perfect ocean view. Why go to Half Moon Bay and freeze in the fog - come to Mendo! Simply put charming, relaxing and a quirky 90's vibe. Very pleasant and deeply recommended. Service was excellent, rooms scrupulously clean.”

“This hotel is good. It’s a little overpriced for not having a view. The room was clean except the no slip bath mat was dirty and had some mold. The air/heat was loud and never turned off unless manually done. There was a digital control on the wall for temp but it appeared to be broken. I guess the fan noise was ok as it helped drown out the car sounds from highway 20. The breakfast had a large variety and the included toiletries were high quality.”

“We stayed for 4 nights in the dog cottage. The cottages are small, but it is nice having a full kitchen. There is a nice area out front for dog walking. There is an issue in that there is no management on site, so any problems must be taken care of by phone and text. Anything after hours has to wait till the next day.”

We stayed two nights at the Ocean View Lodge, Fort Bragg. Our check in was easy and we were in our second-floor room within five minutes. We found the room ready for us – clean, tidy, and with a full and stunning view of the Pacific Ocean from the big picture window and second floor balcony. We had a great whirlpool tub, faux fireplace, and king size bed available to us to relax in at the end of the day.
We had a couple of settling-in glitches which were addressed quickly and calmly by Mandy, the afternoon receptionist. Throughout our visit we found Mandy friendly, patient, and full of solutions to our queries.
There is no complimentary breakfast or daily room service. The hotel is aged - which shows. We addressed an electrical issue with the front desk attendant. The shower was small having a plastic curtain to replace a missing glass door. We made note of the thick, gaudy gold-gilded Baroque king bed, dresser, and nightstand in this particular room.
However, the location is great to watch the Pacific Ocean, access a paved walking path, walk to glass beach, and a stunning view of the sunset!
We have enjoyed this visit to Fort Bragg, in part of Ocean View Lodge hospitality. We would consider staying again.”

“The pool is unable to open. According to the management,it's the county stopping the opening due to renovations on the other side of the building. So incredibly inconvenient for the hotel customers.”

“I've been staying here for years and keep coming back. I call it my $150 a night hotel with the $1 million view. And it's true... most of the rooms have a gorgeous ocean view. You can even hear the surf at night if you leave your window open. The grounds are very pretty and well kept. Yes the rooms could use a little updating, but they've always been very clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating and they have a great area to enjoy your free breakfast.”

“Oak Mark & Deli is a clean and lovely market. The person who made my sandwich was really nice and the cashier was also very nice and welcoming. The store was clean and the deli portion of the market looked clean and fresh. I loved the options of sandwiches. I ordered The Smoke House which is a cold sandwich with smoked turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is because my sandwich was a bit too saucy for me and so was my husband's, and the total was a bit high. I can easily ask for less mayo and mustard next time. For two sandwiches, two sodas, and one bag of chips the total was $32.21. I thought that was a bit high but with inflation a lot of things are high in price now.
Overall I enjoyed visiting Oak Market & Deli. I thought the customer service was great, it was a clean store and deli with lots to look at a purchase. We will be back to try more sandwiches.”
