“The Guild is the best small venue theater outside San Francisco. Tiny venue, good drinks, nice facilities, two bars, helpful staff. Only downside is they need more non- cover bands to come through.”

“Nice place to spend time before a movie or lunch. Love the stain glass dome of the building. Wish they had more photos of the Japanese internment camp. Since I have relatives that spent time in one during the war. But the exhibits on the History of San Mateo county were nice. Maverick's display could use an updated video. But I did learn a few things.”
“The gardens are amazing, as is the troll. There isn't a lot of shade so don't advise going on a hot day (like we did). The paths out to Rosie are a little tricky for people in wheelchairs or using a mobility scooter, but doable. Will definitely go again.”

“We love bringing our kids to this park! There’s a nice walking path around most of the park, the playground is nice for our small kids, and there’s a large open field nearby as well.
One of our favorite things is to walk over to the Atherton public library (5 mins), grab a pastry at their cafe, and let our kids read and explore the library. Sometimes it’s a nice winding-down activity for them.”
“One of my all time favorite places to visit. Go after 12pm if you plan on visiting during the week (avoid field trips). Lots to do for all ages. Sadly the otter & fox have died. Very friendly staff.”
“Yes, this is a very great place. In particular, there are very kind people here, especially in the high school as well. The young girls study here, and they are very polite, respectful. Also, it is a nice place to stay; it has a green environment, a very moderate and different atmosphere compared to other places around this area. Yes, I am sure it is a special place. If you want to walk, you can come for walking, hiking, to see the green space that is created from various flowers, colorful trees, and they have very kind staff who will treat you well.⭐️?????☀️?????⭐️”

“This was my first time at the Elks Club in San Mateo. I attended an afternoon luncheon with about 50 family members in their banquet room which was bright and cozy, and a very nice place for a party, wedding reception, etc. There is ample parking in the parking lot and on the street. The food served was delicious and the service was top notched.”

I was under the impression that the faculty club would have a bit more of a luxurious vibe to it and feature interesting cuisines, but the reality is more of a log cabin vibe with standard fare. It's a nice space sure, but it doesn't live up to the hype. My burger was solid & so was my lemonade, but I wouldn't make it a point to come back. Amazing service though!”
“Found this hidden gem near the SFO airport around San Mateo. This is a venue spot so call ahead, but I was lucky enough to check it out and I mean seriously lucky to see this place! It's absolutely cool and it's a must see for classic muscle/sports/vintage racing car enthusiast. This was an amazing cherry on the top for me as it was my Birthday. If you know a car guy and want maybe the most kick ass spot to host an event/party in the San Mateo area, go here!”
“We chose this place for my daughter’s birthday party, and it was amazing. The kids had so much fun creating and painting their own pictures.
Everything was very well organized, and the professional artist guided the activities smoothly so every child could participate and enjoy the process.

“It’s not new, but as a property manager it feels very well maintained. Well equipped, useful layout, easy parking, efficient and clean restrooms and the associated catering service is very generous with good food and good service. Out e annual conference always runs without a hitch. Just bring a coat because the A/C works very well.”
“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”

“Great people wonderful exotic plants ( grown locally so the shock of being growing up in a different region doesn't ruin the current flowering and adapting quickly) I showed up as they were closing and just the little time I spent and small portion of what was available that I viewed were enough to cause me to leave with my arms full .”

“I was there for an AYSO Soccer meeting. Conference room was comfortable for 15-20 people, A/C was too high, but staff quickly resolved it. Construction and the Wednesday evening Food Trucks made parking tight but I was easily able to find a free parking spot.”
