Fresno Discovery Center is a small nonprofit that aims to inspire curiosity and imagination in children through hands-on STEM experiences. Located in Central Valley, it offers a variety of interactive exhibits and live animals, making it a fun place for kids to learn and play. The center features an engaging main entrance area with a mini grocery store, a fossil digging station, and a magnetic movement station. Outside, families can explore the beautiful Deutsch Cactus Garden, koi pond, and tortoise compound, providing plenty of space for children to run and enjoy nature. While the center has many activities and a great location, some reviews suggest it needs more upkeep, as certain toys and exhibits are reported to be dirty, and some interactive features may not be working. Parking is also mentioned as a concern, with a nearby building offering unused space. Despite these issues, many visitors appreciate the affordable admission price and the variety of experiences available for children, including a "women in science" section that highlights local scientists. Overall, Fresno Discovery Center is considered a hidden gem, ideal for families looking for an enriching day out. With the potential for improvement, it remains a beloved spot for children and parents alike.
For my three year old son, there is enough activities to keep my son busy for a hour. He enjoys the dinosaurs. There are turtles and Koi in the pond. They have fish food for feeding the turtles and fish. There are different activities like Easter egg hunt and music classes throughout the year. Yearly membership available.
