It was such an amazing journey to take through history, learning and re-learning with my daughter all the things that I'd forgotten and am pretty sure I never learned in school. The gentle approach BFB takes with the lessons makes it easy for children to digest and want to continue learning more.”

“I stopped here on a whim with my prek daughter on her birthday when her pocket full of birthday money. I grew up in Los Osos, near the first location (near Carlocks) but had not stepped foot in the door in fifteen years. It was magical. I've admittedly shopped on Amazon for the last decade, but watching her eyes light up as she sorted through the puzzles, costumes and toys was wonderfully nostalgic. I get the convenience of Amazon and big box shopping, but we lose the wonder of experiencing a shop full of imagination. We found a couple toys we had been eyeing online elsewhere for similar and even less money. My daughter was able to pick several treasures with money to spare. I also value toys that last, not just quality-wise, but as in toys that kids will play with through multiple stages. Toys that inspire them to play creatively instead of entertain them. The store was packed with great options! While she explored the toys, my toddler played with the hands on train set and I caught up with the owner. What a lovely place. We joined the birthday club and will likely be back every birthday we can.”

“This is a charming little bookstore in the heart of Arroyo grande. The bookstore is small, but they have a wonderful selection of books for everyone on your list. They carry all sorts of genres and if they don't have it, they can definitely get it for you.The children's section is located in the back of the store and is super sweet and charming. They carefully curate the books to not only the popular titles that everybody knows and loves, but other books that you may not have heard of before.Over the holidays they had a book tree in their store to help support teachers. Educators in the area could choose books that they would love for their classroom and these book wishes were placed on the tree. Customers coming in and out were able to look at the tree and choose a teachers book to donate to them. It was such a kind and thoughtful thing to do I love a bookstore that helps support educators in their endeavors to support their students and encourage students love for reading and learning.You're such a fun bookstore, whether you're going to browse or to buy and help support this local business. We will definitely be back.”
