“This little inn was a great find! It's about five minutes from the town of Half Moon Bay and the location is great. There are several good restaurants within walking distance and many beaches and restaurants within a short drive of five or ten minutes. We had the Flat Rock room on the first floor. The six-room inn is on a small bluff, very close to the water, and our view of the bay was gorgeous. The first floor rooms are dog-friendly and have little fenced-in yards facing the bay with patios and a little grass. Landscaping on two sides provides privacy. It was heavenly on the patio! The second floor rooms appear to have fairly good-sized balconies. The room itself was lovely with many thoughtful amenities. The bathroom was particularly beautiful and luxurious. We thought the price for all this was extremely reasonable. I did not see anyplace in the area I'd rather stay. Reservations and housekeeping were great. Highly recommend!”

“They have a very friendly service! The balcony view was 8 mile of the Pacific's golden coast I saw dolphins in the morning then later that evening relaxed with inclusive free wine and hot snacks in the dining room or take back to your own private bedroom balcony! Beautiful ❤️Rooms: Our room had a balcony and ensuit with gas fireplace very clean! Not a big room good beach decor and cozy!”

“This is a beautiful, quaint B & B in a great area that gives you easy access to drive to the beach or horseback riding. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Beds are very comfortable. In the evening they offer complimentary wine and cookies. The breakfast is also very good. We stayed in the suite. I highly recommend it. Oh, I should have started with the staff: very professional, kind and accommodating. They will take great care of you. I would definitely go back.Rooms: Welll kept rooms. Very comfortable, clean and romantic.”

“My fiancé and I decided to have our wedding reception here at the Oceano. Its beautiful, the food was great and the staff was so exceptionally friendly. BUT - one person absolutely made everything possible. That person is Nancy. She deserves the Nobel Prize for wedding planning. I'm a nervous person who gets overwhelmed by planning big events. I don't know what I don't know. Luckily Nancy was there to guide us both through the entire process. I really can't say enough wonderful things about her and her coworkers. I'd wake up in the middle of the night thinking "OMG, did we get tablecloths?!" No problem. Nancy already had it under control. Got a question? Nancy has the answer and already knows the DJ/photographer/cake baker and more. Without her, I would have been a total mess. She made us both feel like we were in VERY capable hands and everything was going to be ok. AND the best part is that it was ok! The reception went down without a single snafu! After our first meeting, we both walked out feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off our chest. You will too.”

“An absolute treasure in Half Moon Bay. You feel like you have stepped back in time. There is so much room in the common areas. - indoors and out. There's a coffee and tea bar with cookies and fresh fruit. Loved the fireplaces. Even had brandy to sip by the fire. Very cozy. Our room was perfect. And, another fireplace. So welcoming. Plus, the clawfoot bathtub. Elegant! Our experience was over the top wonderful.”

“Lovely stay at HMB Inn. Rooms are small, and it helps to know that going in, which we did so no complaints there. Clean, organized, and wonderful service from all staff, especially the owner who was friendly and helpful throughout our booking and our time there. We were in town for a wedding at the San Benito house and highly recommend. booked the Terrazo room and the terrace was delightful, made the room feel bigger and allowed us to open the door and cool the Room down naturally.”

“Couldn’t get a room close to San Mateo- so it made better sense to drive here than fight traffic.Very clean hotel.Friendly staff.HMB may seem like a hike- but I’d much rather spend the same (or less) time taking a beautiful drive to a spotless hotel than sitting looking at taillights!!”

“The hotel is excellent. I have stayed here before and like it so much it is the only one I look for. You can walk to the beach. Great food right by the place, including The Barn. Great choices for the free breakfast with a great coffee machine and juice machine. Staff is so nice and helpful.”

“If you are checking in do your best to avoid Connor at the front desk. As others have mentioned before he will discriminate against you. Im not sure if it is because we are Asian or what. He had us pay for an upgrade promising that it would be ready in 15 minutes and telling us it would be in a certain location. Almost 2 hours later we still were not in the room. I had to go to the front desk 4-5 timesI think he runs this scheme where he claims to be contacting the cleaning crew but is really just talking to himself. He even went to the back room to "check on it". I think its just a game he pulls on peopleWhen we got to the room it was the room type he promised but it was all the way down the hall in the worst spot and nowhere near to where he promised. The cleaning crew didnt look like they had been contacted and almost every other room of the same type was unoccupied. Thankfully after contacting them, the manager KJ made it right.Every other time we have been here we havent been haggled being platinum elite but Connor definitely decided to make it difficultOtherwise, everything was great, i know everything cant always be perfect. My wife and i love visiting the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay and will be back. Hopefully Connor will no longer be here”

“My husband & I stayed at the Quality Inn in September of 2023. We flew in for a family member's funeral, and the trip was off to a rough start in terms of travel. We'd expected to arrive at our hotel at 11 PM but our flight was delayed. We showed up at 3:30 AM, dirty, tired, & overstimulated. Omar, the night clerk, is a rock star. He is a warm, kind person who went above and beyond his obligations to help us get situated. After being treated like inconvenient cattle for a day, it was extra lovely to be treated like human beings and welcome guests.Our room was clean & spacious enough for the 2 of us to spread out and relax comfortably in the midst of our belongings. The walls are thin enough to hear the faint sound of cars rushing by on the highway, but everyone at the hotel was respectful & quiet. Beds are cozy & warm. The room was clean & didn't smell musty or like heavily perfumed air fresheners, which are often used to mask the smell of mildew. It seems to be an older motel, but it's clean & comfortable & the price is reasonable. The bathroom was small yet clean. We didn't need our room to be tidied during our short stay, but the top notch housekeeping staff came to the door & gave us extra wash cloths and towels.We thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast. They offered waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals, bagels & cream cheese, coffee, teas, hot chocolate, juice, & milk. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but you get the idea. There are plenty of delicious options, and we never left feeling unsatisfied. I also appreciated the large water dispenser in the lobby (accessible 24/7).The entire staff is friendly & accommodating. They really made us feel at home during a difficult time. The trip was emotionally draining, yet we both felt comfortable and cared for at The Quality Inn from the moment we arrived. When we return to visit family in the area, we will definitely stay here again if there is a room available. We hope to see Omar again when we return. People like him are the reason we become loyal customers.I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.”
