“I have a 2006 GTO that I had an unfortunate motor failure in where the motor was unusable, Ochs Performance royaly messed up an LS7 I bought from them and proceeded not to fix anything, that’s where Jake and Kohle step in, I called them up and talked with them and they said to ship the motor and they’d get it started. So my dad and I made the decision to pack the motor up and drive to California from Maryland to see the place, 3days later we met all the guys at AHP and they couldn’t believe we came all that way lol. But the facility is awesome, the equipment alone speaks volumes on the operation. They ended up building me a 442 CUI LS7 with 24x reluctor, wet sump, so that it was plug and play with my car and I just got the car done and needless to say it’s perfect. I’m forever thankful for Khole and his team for getting me right and making my dream engine swap a reality”

“I was referred to Ramiro through a family friends who’s been doing business with them for years. First I took my Ford Econoliner and Ramiro worked it very quick because I needed the car but he told me to bring it back to do major work on it. Second, I took my 2015 Accord to him and he had me on the road within in 25 minutes with minor fix the car. I recently brought my Accord for check engine light and oil change. He replaced the oxygen sensor and oil change within 1.5 hours. Ramiro and his team are extremely professional and honest. He is not one of those mechanics that runs the bills on diagnostics and then fix them. I would definitely recommend his shop for all your car problems.”

“After returning from a cross-country trip to the East Coast and back I decided my 2005 car needed new struts and shocks. Especially in the East Coast with all the bumpy roads there it was banging like crazy. Not so bad out here in the west coast where the roads don't get as bumpy and potholed ( because we don't have the cold weather,) but I still wanted to do new struts for preventive maintenance.
So I checked around different places to see how much they would charge me just for labor and Ray came out with a VERY LOW OFFER of $240. I wasn't going to argue with that, so after receiving the struts via eBay I brought them to Ray, and he did them very quickly. He knows all the expert shortcuts.
However, I wonder if he has a memory issue or if this was just something he decided to circumvent. Cuz when I went to pay, the price was now $340. Even at $340 that would still be the lowest price offer. I was actually planning on giving him a nice tip but since he jacked it up $100 I decided to pay that price without arguing.
I also asked him to let me know if he saw anything underneath that I should be concerned about. He didn't have any suggestions after the job was done and after taking it for a test drive. It was actually Ray's grandson who gave me a subtle tip about changing my tires. The grandson must have noticed my two tires on the passenger side were getting bad. I had not noticed it because the wear and tear was on the inside that you wouldn't see unless you got underneath a little bit.
I had noticed the weird wonkiness and vibrations & wasn't sure what that was all about. The new struts and shocks helped it a little bit, but it was still vibrating & getting worse. So after leaving there a few days later I had other things checked out elsewhere and then I noticed how bad the two tires were. I appreciate the grandson's advice.
But why didn't Ray give me a STRAIGHT HEADS-UP about that ? He must have felt it when he took a test drive as well. When I saw the tires especially after they had been taken off, anybody would know these were REALLY BAD. And since he was underneath, I would assume he would have noticed that, especially if the grandson had as well.
I'm not too proud to admit I need all the help I can get when it comes to auto repair. I'm the first one to admit that I learned a lot in college that has NO PRACTICAL VALUE for everyday life. And my dad being of the same ilk, was NEVER able to teach me anything practical. I was never taught anything about anything practical growing up, and I just keep learning little by little as I as I go.
Otherwise, mostly good experiences with Ray ?”
“Ted will take care of you! It’s never fun to have your transmission go out but after 250,000 miles my Toyota transmission quit.
Ted and his team had me rolling down PCH with the top down in under a week with a complete replacement.

Do yourself a favor and take it to a place that’s family owned, transparent, and one that will make sure your car is going to run as long as it can.”

“I bought a 2013 Volkswagen CC that wasn’t running. Took it Eric it ended up being the timing chain. Eric gave me a great price and was always very responsive. But I also bought the car not knowing the other issues it might have. Eric was recommended some other repairs. I took his advice. He did a great job. When I got the car back Eric told me drive it around and if there were any issues just give him a ring and he would take care of it. 4 stars cause it took a little longer than expected. But Eric was very responsive. Not once did he dodge one of my texts or phone calls.”
