Lai Young is a popular spot known for its fresh, high-quality dumplings and veggie pockets. Customers appreciate the delicious, plump, and juicy dumplings, especially the mini pork and shrimp, pork, and chives varieties. The flavors are well-loved, with many noting the absence of any porkiness issues and a satisfying taste that keeps them coming back. The veggie dumplings, which include pressed tofu, cabbage, Chinese celery, and carrots, are also highly praised for their flavor and quality. The prices are considered fair, with a bag of 50 dumplings costing around $20, making it a good value for the quality offered. The place supplies many local restaurants and is known for making dumplings fresh daily. Customers find it easy to pick up their pre-ordered bags, as the owner is courteous and service-oriented. Since dumplings sell quickly, it is recommended to order a day in advance. There is no dine-in area, so orders must be called in ahead of time, but the process is straightforward and worth the effort. Overall, Lai Young is a reliable and satisfying choice for anyone seeking tasty, freshly made dumplings in a friendly setting.
Lai Young has hands down the tastiest dumplings my family has eaten in the Bay Area. Prices are very reasonable, quality is constantly great, well balance in flavor and good texture of wrapper. This is the only place we go to pick up a couple bags of frozen dumplings when we crave hometown flavors.
