“La Grande Market is a really nice local market in Hayward. I like stopping here because it’s convenient and they always have what I need. The store is clean and everything is well organized, which makes it easy to find things quickly. Ali is always there with a smile and great customer service. He’s very kind and helpful, and he treats customers like regulars even if it’s your first time there. That kind of service makes a big difference. Overall it’s a great neighborhood market and definitely deserves five stars.”

“5 stars for all of the employees here at the Hayward location. They’re all joyful, helpful, they greet you upon walking in, and if they see you staring at a shelf for more than 2 seconds, they ask if you need help.
1 star for the manager Michael. Tall dude with zero customer service skills and zero personality. He must have something against Instacart / door dash shoppers because he’s rude to me every time I’m there. He restocks items directly in front of me while I’m looking for something. He’s dismissive when asked for help finding something. He never will say hello or ask if I need help - which is fine I don’t expect that - but maybe you should take a thing or two from your employees who are all great. But the final straw & cause for this review is how rudely he cut in front of me & grabbed a case of soda I was browsing at & restocked it on the shelf below, while I’m actively shopping for sodas and looking for specific flavors!! I couldn’t believe him. And when I said something he replied with “I thought you put it back in the wrong spot” no dude. I’m looking at it and I’m also looking for 5 other flavors.
Upper management needs to train this dude because he’s never been helpful or gone out of his way - but today he crossed a line by not only getting into my personal space, but also doing it so rudely while I’m actively looking at the item.”
“The people that shop there the people that work in the store everybody's just so nice the store so clean the food so fresh it's just I just love shopping there. I can go to the bigger stores like lucky or Safeway but I love shopping there.”

“Lai Young has hands down the tastiest dumplings my family has eaten in the Bay Area. Prices are very reasonable, quality is constantly great, well balance in flavor and good texture of wrapper. This is the only place we go to pick up a couple bags of frozen dumplings when we crave hometown flavors.”

Their prices aren't what I would call bargain friendly, but when you want to grab a bottle at the last minute and don't have a ride, they are great to have around. The owners and staff are all super nice and helpful. They make me feel welcome every time I stop by. One of the ladies recommended Dobel tequila when I asked for a suggestion, which I had never heard of and is now my favorite tequila.”
“I went there years ago in the 80s when I first flew my first plane the people were I can't remember who was there but the people who run the store now run it well they run a good clean respectable business but if you give a business five stars it seems like to me everybody turns arrogant so you get four stars for me and honest opinion if you don't like it I don't care”

“Discount shopping with tons of selection. Visited Hayward looking for a few items and was happy to find this large Grocery Outlet well stocked. The store is always a bit of a crap shoot for what will be in stock, but the volume of items compared to my local Grocery Outlet was incredibly high. The dairy/yogurt section was well-stocked and had varieties that I seldom see on the shelves. They also had instant coffee, another rarity at my local market. The register staff member was kind and welcoming, and she took pride in maintaining her checkout area. There’s a no backpack rule, but I checked with one of the staff, and she said that for small backpacks it was”

“They have strawberry Dubai cups/bowls with either dark or milk chocolate! Super fresh and delicious! We also had a piping hot Turkish coffee that’s steeped in a sand bath - such a unique touch. On top of that, we picked up a variety of little chocolates, including chocolate covered dates, chocolate covered hazelnut, and chocolate covered blueberry with cream cheese. Everything was beautifully made and full of unique flavors. Highly recommend!”
