“I'm currently in the early stages of the NACA qualification process and haven't been fully qualified yet, but I feel compelled to share my experience so far. The process, while comprehensive, has been relatively straightforward, which I didn't fully expect given the complexity of buying a home. This simplicity is largely thanks to the incredible support I've received from my NACA counselor. They've been exceptionally helpful and informative, guiding me through each step with patience and clarity.Although I'm still on my journey to homeownership, my experience with NACA has been positive. The program's commitment to making homeownership accessible without the burden of high closing costs or down payments is truly commendable. My counselor's guidance has been invaluable, and their dedication to assisting me in navigating the process has bolstered my confidence in achieving a favorable outcome.I have high hopes for the future and am optimistic about what lies ahead with NACA. For anyone considering the program, I recommend going in with patience and an open mind. The process might be meticulous, but the support you receive and the potential benefits are well worth it. I'm looking forward to continuing my journey with NACA and am hopeful for a successful conclusion.”
“3/5/23 Urban farming in the middle of Compton! Support local farmers/vendors every other Sunday 8am-1 pmI was fortunate enough to tag along with my bro, test driving the Car of the Future-Faraday Future FF91. It's a triple treat: hanging out with my brother, visiting on the farms, riding in the car of the future. Life is an endless realm of possibilities!!The farm started with the crew's huddle right before 8am-inspirational! Bro & I checked out the farm & see what's growing: broccoli, radish, kale. Collard green, glowers & herbs. Bought a couple of bouquets & some raisin rolls.It's always so positively awesome after coming by & embracing nature's harvest, meeting the crew. Kudos to Richard, Mario & Mando-such friendly people. Highly recommend this place, it's small but big on freshness & customer service!!”
“Japanese American Community Cultural Center has an excellent resident chef, Chris Ono who presides over the open kitchen usually from Thursday thru Sunday.Haute Cuisine from a Japanese American perspective. Tranquil view of a tranquil Japanese Garden will put you at rest.Reserve on their JACCC website.”

“Ring bell for Carlos if gift shop is shuttered but hours say open. Super delicious toffee. Pumpkin bread is their signature bakery hood and once seasonal only cranberry proved so popular it’s available year round. Be warned Carlos is an excellent salesman and you might leave feeling swindled but don’t worry everything you buy supports the nuns and boy does that peanut brittle sneak up on you proving Carlos correct. Eaten without it’s counterparts it is addictive bc it’s not sickly sweet like other brittle. Easy to polish off an entire bag. Carlos will also give a history of the monastery and tell lots of entertaining stories of visitors describing the goods as crack to which Carlos will reply that he has never tried crack so can’t rightfully compare. There are also more salacious Thorn Bird and Milkman esque gossip for the less easily offended. And nuns are human ones like when they go to See’s to check out the competition. Oh and you can also quiet reflect in chapel and gardens.”

“Just got to visit once with my daughter. My grandson is hard of hearing. We went to Friday Family School. The staff is so helpful. They are engaging with the children AND adults. They teach the whole family so we can best help our children and grand children.The facility is clean & beautiful, too.”
“I absolutely love this place I've been going to the store since I moved here to LA I was sleeping in a tent for the first 5 months about a block away I went in there every day and got a cheesecake I got the nickname the cheesecake man very friendly very down-to-earth it's just such a wonderful place it's small store and plus it's in the heart of skid row but the people that worked at the store always treat you with respect very easygoing people you must go you enjoy it”
“We had the pleasure of hosting a wedding there last month. The location is beautiful and private. The facility is set up in a way that allows for a step above the complete DIY or an all inclusive planned event. It's so much more than a standard hotel ballroom. If you want to dance the night away under the stars in a gorgeous courtyard, I would recommend checking this out!!”

“My friends place is a very unique place. Two months ago because of my stupidity my whole life fell apart. I stayed in my car for a few days before I discovered MFP. First day I went in I got access to a roof on top of my head all thanks to Woody. Even though he left to pursue further studies I will forever be indebted to him. I'm a frequent "client"(they call homeless folks clients/young people) mainly go in there for free food(they have the best free snack shop), tap cards, and clothes. They also offer many other services. Ms. Ty is my favorite at MFP. She is beautiful both outside and on the inside. She gives out this amazing older cousin vibe which consists of nurture, love, and care. I was surprised to learn that she has been working there for less than a year given by the proficiency she shows at her job. I'm lucky to have MFP and MFP is lucky to have Ms. Ty. Cisco is the ever smiling Job guy and is there to help with any occupational needs. Chase is the homie who hooked me up with a skateboard which was my primary commute until recently. Violetta is super nice and always greets me first. Like Ms. Ty she's also really pretty. Roxy, Jorge are all like my favorite family members that are not related to me. Joey the big dude may look intimidating from the outside but has a heart of gold. People whom he is superior of are lucky to have a boss like him. Roger is the man, always hooking it up. The reason why I wrote this lengthy review is for the future donors to know how amazing organization they are donating to. Because of MFP I'll soon move into my own apartment and get my car back. This is a great place for any donation. God bless whoever established this organization, it's donors, and Heather and Erin(even though I never met them I have only heard good things about them), and the volunteers for working for free and dealing with the craziness.”

I can't stress enough how much of a lifeline this place has been, especially during challenging times. What truly sets Heart of Compassion apart is the genuine care that radiates from every volunteer. And speaking of that, I have to give a special shoutout to Nela, who patiently guided me through the process. The variety and quantity of food they give out at Heart of Compassion is impressive, but it's the people like Nela who make this place shine. It's not just about filling stomachs here. “Had my Dads Celebration of Life reception here and it was great! Not too fancy but not too ghetto either. The hall is a decent size, we had a DJ, the smoking patio was big enough and the bar was great! Also the bartenders were funny and super friendly. Would definitely recommend!!!”
