βTPF is the real deal. I have to say, though, do your homework. Study up at Calscapes.org. Only you know what your landscape looks like. You can bring a photo of what you are wanting to change. The local native plant nursery, which is privately owned, near Hahamongna, is not a good choice.β

βThe activities were fun, we got to learn about using power tools, and the staff were great! Especially Hanabee, Jim, and Alex. Started off with a name activity and moved into using a hand saw and drill. Made a thing called not-a-box where you start off with a box and transform it into your own thing. Totally recommend!β

1977 Carmen Ave, Los AngelesβRing bell for Carlos if gift shop is shuttered but hours say open. Super delicious toffee. Pumpkin bread is their signature bakery hood and once seasonal only cranberry proved so popular itβs available year round. Be warned Carlos is an excellent salesman and you might leave feeling swindled but donβt worry everything you buy supports the nuns and boy does that peanut brittle sneak up on you proving Carlos correct. Eaten without itβs counterparts it is addictive bc itβs not sickly sweet like other brittle. Easy to polish off an entire bag. Carlos will also give a history of the monastery and tell lots of entertaining stories of visitors describing the goods as crack to which Carlos will reply that he has never tried crack so canβt rightfully compare. There are also more salacious Thorn Bird and Milkman esque gossip for the less easily offended. And nuns are human ones like when they go to Seeβs to check out the competition. Oh and you can also quiet reflect in chapel and gardens.β
9AM - 8PM

2035 Highland Ave, Los AngelesβA genuine hidden gem in Los Angeles. When you go into the building, you are met by stunning art deco, speakeasy, and forties vibes. I was astonished by how big the building is once inside. I am honored to be a visitor since you must be a member or have been invited. We had a great experience. Bartender on point :) Met some wonderful people as we enjoyed a night cap. If you have the opportunity, stop by. Thank you to all military personnel for your service.β

4700 N Griffin Ave, Los AngelesβWe had the pleasure of hosting a wedding there last month. The location is beautiful and private. The facility is set up in a way that allows for a step above the complete DIY or an all inclusive planned event. It's so much more than a standard hotel ballroom. If you want to dance the night away under the stars in a gorgeous courtyard, I would recommend checking this out!!β
βMy Hollywood Ca WW1 purple heart Veteran Grandfather Charles Zachary Chapman & His WW11 Veteran son My Dad Robert E. Chapman were members of Post 43 back in the day... not far from the Hollywood Bowl where I've relished many fabulous summer evening concerts.β
βWithout any doubt, the best narrative driven school of the world (at least of my world). In this place, you learn STORY, hence it transforms you. Also, if you ever get a DRIVING CONE with your name by a free parking spot, thatβs THE SIGN you made it. AFI Alumni will get this post. The rest, just trust this post is pretty accurate.β
βMy friends place is a very unique place. Two months ago because of my stupidity my whole life fell apart. I stayed in my car for a few days before I discovered MFP. First day I went in I got access to a roof on top of my head all thanks to Woody. Even though he left to pursue further studies I will forever be indebted to him. I'm a frequent "client"(they call homeless folks clients/young people) mainly go in there for free food(they have the best free snack shop), tap cards, and clothes. They also offer many other services. Ms. Ty is my favorite at MFP. She is beautiful both outside and on the inside. She gives out this amazing older cousin vibe which consists of nurture, love, and care. I was surprised to learn that she has been working there for less than a year given by the proficiency she shows at her job. I'm lucky to have MFP and MFP is lucky to have Ms. Ty. Cisco is the ever smiling Job guy and is there to help with any occupational needs. Chase is the homie who hooked me up with a skateboard which was my primary commute until recently. Violetta is super nice and always greets me first. Like Ms. Ty she's also really pretty. Roxy, Jorge are all like my favorite family members that are not related to me. Joey the big dude may look intimidating from the outside but has a heart of gold. People whom he is superior of are lucky to have a boss like him. Roger is the man, always hooking it up. The reason why I wrote this lengthy review is for the future donors to know how amazing organization they are donating to. Because of MFP I'll soon move into my own apartment and get my car back. This is a great place for any donation. God bless whoever established this organization, it's donors, and Heather and Erin(even though I never met them I have only heard good things about them), and the volunteers for working for free and dealing with the craziness.β

12901 Venice Blvd., Los AngelesβHello my name is Jacqueline. I am a disabled individual. I was assisting my brother with signing up for the DOR program. I met Mr. Robert Durden. He was awesome. He referred me to Ms. Benita at the DCRC 12901 Venice LA,CA 90066.I went there to meet with Ms. Benita. I shared my story with her. I explained my disability I shared my desire to Interpret for the DHH/deaf and hard of hearing Community.I explained to Ms. Benita that I would like to share my gift as a American Sign Language interpreter with the resource Center. She was an ear. She listened to me. She shared her words of encouragement.. I listened to her as well. She shared valuable information. It has been a while since I felt that someone really cared about my ASL skills.I see Ms. Benita as a very extraordinary person. " Many are called but, few are chosen ." Ms. Benita has been chosen. For me ,she has been a blessing. βββββI feel new hope. I'm more encouraged than I have ever been. PRIOR to meeting her, I felt broken and discouraged. Speaking with her LIFTED my spirits. If you are a disabled person seeking assistance and guidance, this is the place to be. Do not hesitate. Contact the Diasbility community Center at the above address. This Disability Center is a beautiful world of differences. The staff are very kind, helpful and inviting. They are a very warm family of professionals. They are all working together to service a very large community. They are a real team, thriving for the benefit of others. The head of this extraordinary Disability Center is TJ. He is has a very pleasant personality. He made time to meet with at the last minuet. He shared the background and history of the program. He also shared his story.. I admire him for his honesty and his dedicated work for the disabled community. Every Disabled Center should be equipped with a team of caring people like the ones the are employed here. This is a very colorful, multicultural Resource Center. I am pleased and honored to have met such kind hearted staff ?.ββββββ
βI took my pug Leah here for vaccines and I paid 60$ for all of them! Super affordable :) VETCO charges 230$ for a full set of vaccines yikes and I work there too . I love how they take care of her . Even though the wait can be long , they got her in and out and she was fine when we got home. If you have brachycephalic breed for a spay be sure to understand there's a possibly of them not making it . My pugs all have been spayed there and one of them almost did not make it . The team did thankfully successfully finished the procedure and she was ok :)β

βThe California endowment is a really nice modern building with beautiful courtyards and lots of well-equipped clean large rooms that you can rent. They have free parking in the back of the building. It's located in a great place close to the Metro. The staff are friendly and fast to assist. Catering is available on site. AV is very efficient and fast to respond to any issues. Highly recommended.β
βLoved this shop and the staff! Bikerowave is a an awesome non-profit with some reasonably priced bikes. The people are passionate about fixing bikes and making sure everyone can experience the joys of biking. Michael helped me pick a bike and spent 30 minutes talking through the different considerations in buying a used bike. He also let me test ride the different bikes and also helped me understand the differences in the types of gears and speeds. I ultimately got a used mountain bike there for about $180 but they had bikes in the low $100 range or less. There was also a kid's bike for $25. There is always a chance you find a cheaper bike on OfferUp but this shop has a great mission and has people that truly care about biking. Highly recommend checking it out!β
