“Amazing ! just beautiful from the upstairs theater to the art deco bar below down stairs. The people who attend and the bartenders make great drinks ( and bartenders) and people friendly, unlike other legions where most won't give you the time of day if you're visiting. It was karaoke night and was a great time, some Elvis and Roger Miller, Pat Benatar. Looking forward to my next visit when I'm in the area”

“Ring bell for Carlos if gift shop is shuttered but hours say open. Super delicious toffee. Pumpkin bread is their signature bakery hood and once seasonal only cranberry proved so popular it’s available year round. Be warned Carlos is an excellent salesman and you might leave feeling swindled but don’t worry everything you buy supports the nuns and boy does that peanut brittle sneak up on you proving Carlos correct. Eaten without it’s counterparts it is addictive bc it’s not sickly sweet like other brittle. Easy to polish off an entire bag. Carlos will also give a history of the monastery and tell lots of entertaining stories of visitors describing the goods as crack to which Carlos will reply that he has never tried crack so can’t rightfully compare. There are also more salacious Thorn Bird and Milkman esque gossip for the less easily offended. And nuns are human ones like when they go to See’s to check out the competition. Oh and you can also quiet reflect in chapel and gardens.”

Without the teaching of Basic Kabbalah (non denominational) you may struggle more than others. It will teach you the importance of Consciousness (its not just about being awake to the world its knowing how to control it)

“We just had my daughter’s birthday party at the Rediscover Center Venice, and it was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, the experience was magical—not just for the kids but for the parents, too.
The hands-on crafting activities were beyond amazing. The Rediscover Center provides a treasure trove of recycled materials, sparking creativity in ways I’ve never seen before. From building robots and fairy houses to making tiaras and race tracks, there was something for everyone. The kids were completely engaged, and even the parents got involved, which made it even more special!
The staff was phenomenal—so patient, encouraging, and hands-on with everyone. They made sure each child felt supported and inspired, guiding them through their creations with warmth and enthusiasm. Their passion for creativity and sustainability truly shines through.
Everyone who attended couldn’t stop raving about how much fun they had, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. This will be a truly unforgettable experience for my daughter, and I can’t wait to come back for more creative fun! If you’re looking for a unique and memorable party venue (or just a place to get crafty), I highly recommend the Rediscover Center.

“The California Endowment for community health is an important institution that supports non-profits and government entities with resources including office and venue spaces.
It has a wonderful cafe with warm specials, sandwiches, soups, salads, snacks, coffee, aguas frescas, etc at really great prices with awesome staff. Listening to birdsong and the running water from the fountain is relaxing!”
“826LA -- The Time Travel Mart is an incredibly unique and fun spot in Los Angeles. There are plenty of gifts and fun supplies that help fund the organization's community education program. There are plenty of items that harken to being in a spot out of time: BC/AD stickers, mammoth milk, and other items. I even bought a fun wallet set made from a design by a local kid. The shopkeeper was really kind and made fun conversation while I got to peek around.”

“I resisted Transcendental Meditation for nearly five years and was convinced it wasn’t for me. I finally received the course as a Christmas gift in 2025 — and it has truly changed my life.
I told Danny Goodman upfront that I have severe ADHD and didn’t believe I could sit still for 20 minutes. He met me with patience and calm confidence and showed me how to work with the meditation instead of fighting myself. That made all the difference.
Since learning TM, I’ve experienced deep emotional release — many times tears quietly stream down my face during meditation, and I come out feeling reset and grounded. This practice has helped me tremendously while coping with the overwhelming insurance process after my home was damaged in the Palisades fire. My sleep is noticeably better, and after my morning meditation I now feel clear about my priorities for the day.
I’m deeply grateful for Danny’s guidance and compassion. I highly recommend learning TM with him, especially if you think you “can’t meditate” — I used to believe the same.”
“I loved it. I was taken aback because of the location but let me tell you that after I walk in, I was transported to another dimension. There is valet parking, certainly a plus. Inside you are provided with every you need. The event took place worry free. I would def. recommend it. It made me appreciate what Los Angeles has to offer.”

“This is a great and very needed facility in the community. It offers many different benefits and ways to help those who have disabilities. They helped my husband apply to get an iPad funded by the state for speaking and communication because my husband had his vocal cords removed due to cancer. It took awhile but, anytime you apply for funds from the government it will always take some time to go through and get approved. We are very thankful he now has a way to speak again. It may not be his own voice but, now he doesn't have to write everything down to communicate with others. DCRC has been a real blessing and will help those who may not know what's available, where to start, or have a voice of their own to speak up and be heard.”

“There is this trend going on on tiktok about people google mapping their childhood homes and all I can think of is about APCH. I literally cry because I miss it so much till this day. It’s been almost 20 years already and i think about apch all the time since i left! I started in 2006 and stopped going in 2013-14. I was heart broken LITERALLY. My family and i had to move out and i had to start HS somewhere else i would cry everyday in that school because of how much i missed apch. I missed the friends i made/had , i missed dancing everyday and performing i missed trying every other activity there was there just for fun, i missed the staffs, i missed the person i was at apch i missed the memories EVERYTHING. i still can’t believe how time has gone by so fast but being at apch felt like a dream . I don’t even say these stuff about regular school because i can think of is just apch. Going to school everyday but being super excited to get out so i can head to apch right after school was always something i was looking forward to. Ugh i can keep going and going about how much i love apch about the good and bad and everything just EVERYTHING apch has done for me. But it’s all memories now and i am now an adult but little me is forever grateful and will forever miss apch. Thank you for everything?”
