“WOW, just WOW. Mesa Liquor is the little store that COULD! Not only do they have seemingly every possible kind of liquor you might ever need, but they also have some beautiful high-end, hard to find liquors like the sipping tequilas I've bought there this year.
BUT, a store with an astoundingly great inventory is nothing without staff that understands the product.
Rabi is THAT guy. A legit connoisseur who can guide you to discover some truly fine adult beverages. I love being able to talk to someone who has tasted some of the finest flavors and can speak––not from a sales point––but from the perspective of listening to and accurately and deciphering MY tastes.

“Solid local liquor store. Beer and wine but plenty of hard liquor as well. Everything from rock gut to some more well-heeled options, though rock gut is probably predominant. Plenty of good options in between. Nothing fancy, but great for all your basic needs. They also sell ice.”

“When I am bicycling through Old Town, I always get a surge of glee when I see that SB Gift Basket is open for walk-up shoppers. I'm sure you can do business with them without ever visiting their charming workshop (which was once a blacksmith operation beore all of us were born.) The atmosphere in this shop is welcoming! They have the world's best parking for bicycles, but those using a car have some additional parking now that Hollister has been redesigned. So don't let parking problems hold you back from a great experience. With OAT bakery across the street, you can have an experience that I find to eclipse the charm of the Funk Zone. More and more, I am enjoying all of the charming businesses in Old Town. And this shop is clearly the most charming of them all.”
“Magnolia Liquors has a new owner and what a world of difference. JJ is so friendly and helpful. He knows me and my dog and always greets us personally. Prices are lower, the store has a pleasant and open feeling and JJ is always ready with a fist bump. His father comes in a couple of days a week to give JJ some time off and he is just as nice. It’s a whole new shop and I highly recommend Magnolia Liquors.

“My favorite liquor store in Santa Barbara. Some others might have a larger inventory, but this place offers off-the-beaten-track options and some nicer selections. Need Rompope or other more esoteric ingredients? This is a great place to try first. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Cash, credit/debit cards accepted. And of course they have mixers and other niceties as well as some hardware for your home bar.”
“This is a small neighborhood store near the 101 freeway on the Westside of Santa Barbara. They have limited parking, and parking lot entrance and exit is 1 way access only. Enter from Mission St, exit on San Pascual St.
They carry food, beverage, and non food items, along with lottery ticket purchases. Employees are friendly.”

“I have been walking here from my house in the neighborhood since I could walk; Westside Market has been a staple of the westside for decades. IMPORTANT INFO: THIS is THE only place to buy lighter fluid/butane in I think all of Santa Barbara after 9pm (til midnight!)PS fun fact: Elias used to own this market; he's the best! Now he owns the smoke shop on De La Vina and Mission called Paradise Smoke Shop; pop on over there for all your tobacco and head change needs ? He and his son run an awesome shop! Cheers!”
“I stopped in here for on 5/15/2025 at 5:17 PM on my way to a concert. Had a little headache, needed a couple Ibuprofen. They had the little 2 dose travel size, exactly what I needed. More importantly though, the young man at the counter was SUPER nice. He had a little something personal and authentically engaging to say to every single customer he interacted with. Thank you!!!”
