I understand they take emergencies. However, a 45 minute to an hour wait for a nail trim? I don't think so. I don't wait that long for my own pedicure. How about you call the people who have appointments and tell them you're 1 hour late due to an emergency and then give us the opportunity to reschedule or not. And your office staff has a horrible attitude about making your clients wait.

I have a 9 year old Belgian Malinois who HATES the vet & I can’t thank Dr. Herrick enough for making both of us feel safe & spoke us through the entire process. Shout out to Felix who did his X-rays and had so much patience and reassured how well he did. They both never saw him as an issue or problem just treated him like any other dog. It’s hard taking your dog with muzzle on to the vet but they made it feel to safe & comfortable. The front office is great as well and answered all my questions and worked with my work schedule

When I first found this place, I taught it was amazing, I recommend this place to a lot of my friends, cause if my cockatiels were showing signs of illnes, they gave me same day appointments, the doctor was so loving and caring with them. But after pandemia, 2 beloved birds died because the doctor was out of town and because they didn’t have appointments. You should open a gap for animals that they don’t show signs of illnesses like birds, until they’re feeling really sick, and their health decreased pretty fast. Now I’m heartbroken I couldn’t find any other avian vet available and my baby passed.? my Julie was an important part of my family.

No stars. Parking is terrible. Prices are exaggerated. Staff is colder than the room itself. Appointments are pointless.

More than 75% more affordable than the other pet dentist I visited. Very chill staff who explained things and reviewed after care well. Highly recommend!

DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PET HERE! Let me tell you why. My beloved rabbit Mia stopped eating & drinking water all night. I took the day off of work and contacted numerous animal hospitals asking what to do. They said it was very SERIOUS and to take her asap to an animal hospital. I called around and every animal hospital was booked except for this one. I trusted this doctor because of the yelp reviews & I took her around 2pm and Dr. Herricks quickly comes in, checks her out in less than 5 min and says she'll be fine just needs a shot and some meds. AND EVEN WANTED TO HAVE NAILS TRIMMED!!! And an x ray was optional but not mandatory.. i trusted this doctor by him saying she would be fine, she just needed a shot and some meds. He seen my worried face & I trusted him and the Yelp reviews that he had received & that was a huge mistake. I knew something in my gut telling me that something was seriously wrong with Mia. But he INSISTED that she would be fine and be eating by tonight!!!!! He assured me over and over!!!! I believed him and proceeded to take my rabbit home. A few hours later when it's time to give Mia her meds, she is completely flopped out in her rabbit house and I knew something was wrong! I quickly took her to an animal emergency and they did everything that they could to save her but it was too late!!!! She had blockage in her stomach & her body was shutting down!! This doctor half a** checking her and not telling me that the x ray was mandatory or that I should've gotten it was by biggest regret. I loved Mia so damn much and knew something was wrong by him looking at her so briefly because he was in a damn rush! The emergency told me that if this doctor would've found out about the blockage, she would still be alive. He literally checked her out in less than 5min, rushed it, and said she would be fine even after me telling him that every other hospital said it was serious. I called this doctor the next day to talk about what went wrong and STILL HAVENT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. I loved Mia will all my heart and will always live with these regrets. Don't make the same mistake that I did with your beloved animal.. rip Mia 10-18-2022

The girls @ the front desk are always so kind and friendly. Dr. Herrick is so very nice and caring. My dog is very aggressive and he handles him so kindly. Gives my dog exceptional care! Explain's everything to me in detail so that I understand everything. It's quite a drive from where I live but so worth it. I won't go anywhere else.

We have been extremely grateful to have Dr. Herrick for the past 10 year. He Is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He's got a straight forward and fast talking way about things but always gives us choices and will say "Thats what i would do if were my pet". We can tell that he cares about animals and loves what he does. We can rest assure as long as we have pets Dr. Herrick will be there for them!

Their price is reasonable and their professionalism is definitely higher than the average vet. My cat is cryptorchid, I visited three vets before and none of them was confident enough to do the surgery, and they gave me quotes like $600-$1000 because the testicle was so hidden and deep. I initially came here for dental cleaning but the nurse was super attentive and told me the doctor is very good at cryptorchid so I agreed to do the surgery together. My cat is fully recovered now, I kept his cone all the time but he keeps jumping and rubbed against the wound so the suture open, I called the hospital and they let me come back to redo the suture for free! Everyone here is so responsible and nice. The best vet I ever visited.

We took our dog here with no problems. But we recently got a kitten and now I won't be coming back. I made an appointment and I asked specifically how much everything would cost, which is why I came here over another recommended place because it was slightly cheaper. When I came all the prices were higher than what they told me AND they forced me to get a $50 blood test or else they wouldn't give the cat the shots. When I told them they told me different prices, they just said the dr recently changed them. I just made the appt a few days prior. They also charged for a exam and he just looked at his teeth and heart beat for two seconds and didn't really talk to me at all or check anything else. ALSO THIS PLACE IS DIRTY and old. Which never really bother me before because I liked them and they were cheaper. But now the vet was different and they just try to push their packages and other unnecessary things. They also told me on the phone that he would need 2 shots on first visit and then come back for one more. When In the office they said I had to come back for multiple shots every two weeks/4 visits. The vet tech that gave the shots at least seemed sweet. The bait and switch is just really unacceptable. I felt held hostage because I was already paying 50 for the exam and if I didn't do the blood test, they wouldn't give the shots, and then I would have to go somewhere else and pay for a second exam.

Though I hate to do it I must for the sake of the vet himself help him improve his practice. First off. I called several weeks ago to have my cats ear looked at and after several attempts with no answer, I concluded they must have gone out of business so I ended up taking him to another vet nearby. Next story, about a week ago our 16 year old poodle was ready to be euthanized. I called the La Habra Hospital again and this time they did answer. I told the receptionist my situation and I asked for the approx. cost. She asked me several questions which I answered, she then put me on a 5 minutes hold came back and told be the cost would be $199. I then told her I would call back to make the appointment. I called back the next week and made the appointment. When we arrived, the lobby was full of anxious and barking dogs (and a few poor cats). It was obvious they had over booked. The vet tech took my husband and poodle back to a room after about a 15 minutes wait. I then went to pay while I was waiting. I was very surprised to find the cost had jumped from $199 to $320! I told her we were quoted $199 but she was pretty clueless and insisted that was the price. I payed the fee without further discussion. Finally 45 minutes later my husband comes out and tells me it was over. Apparently during that time the vet came in and told him he needed to do a surgery and would be right back. REALLY?? He couldn't just put in the IV and do it before he left to do a surgery??? In conclusion, we were there for well over an hour for a procedure that should have taken only a few minutes. Very disappointing.
