“They are the real deal helpful honest group of people!!!! They gave me a free diagnostic on my old bike which included a free easy fix which they did 100% free of charge!
We had an honest conversation about my bike and they didn’t try to upsell me but understand where I was at. They gave me an opportunity to fix more that was also reasonably priced but didn’t push it on me. When I picked up my bike, they took the time to put my bike up on display to show me the quick fix to make gear changing issue so I can do it myself in future. This is when I saw a new cap on some fibers that was hurting my leg and Alex said, “Oh yeah, figured that would be helpful to fix”. (He forgot to mention he did that extra effort) Then Alex remember something else that would be good to calibrate and got a tool and did some geometric altering to make sure I’d be in good shape. This was 100% free of charge honest helpful diagnostic service that went above and beyond. It warmed my heart to know that there are companies who put human connection, integrity, and service above making a dollar. I would 100% back them as a bike company and when I’m ready for a new bike, I’m going here! Thank the gods for a small bike company that we can trust! Let’s invest in them!”

“After shopping around online and in local stores, I made my way to Big Dave's Bikes and couldn't be happier. I walked in with a bike in mind and after some questions were answered, I was out the door with a brand new Trek. I haven't had a new bike since I was a child and it felt great walking out of there after some amazing customer service.”

“This local bike shop looks like a biker’s bike shop (because it is) and yet it is so clearly a bike shop for the people - anyone, no matter your biking expertise. They are helpful, accommodating and also care about and give back to community. great stock of bikes, solid repairs and always willing to go the extra mile. Highly recommend.”

“Went there with Alex to purchase two Penny Farthings for his San Jose bike shop. He bought a silver and black one. We loaded it in his beat up green rusty old van. It was a spilritual experience. Greg was humble, fair. Gave us a discount on the black because it was very slightly used and the silver one (I think was made of stainless steel). Alex enlisted me to help him because I had a little experience riding scrappy original Penny Farthings in the Antelope Valley in Lancaster Fair parades and in Rosamond at the Tropico Gold Mine Chili contests.”

“This was the first bicycle shop I visited when I first moved to Oakland back in 2014. Charlie was always helpful and a life saver during times in need. I'm not really in the area to go here anymore, but your bicycle can and will be serviced!”

“I have had numerious positive experiences here at Stone's Cyclery. John, who manages the shop, has been very knowledgeable
and helpful with his service each and every time (on one experience he even took the time to teach me how to properly change a tire). Overall, I have been very happy using Stone's Cyclery as a goto repair shop.”

“I'd been looking for my next road bike for a little while and settled on a Factor Ostro VAM. I'm somewhat familiar with the brand and just needed to find a bike shop to work with for my order. I of course went to the Factor website but wanted to see if I might be able to get a better deal on the bike. Checking the list of shops on Factor's website didn't give me a bike in my size in inventory so I continued looking online. I came across Beyond Aero and started checking out reviews and things. Psychotically, I even used google maps to view the street the store is on - just to make sure things were ok! Fortunately, Andres has a number of great reviews so that put me at ease. I knew I wanted the Ostro VAM and I was keen for Beyond Aero's build using Zipp wheels so I emailed the shop. Andres was quick to respond. He's also very patient as I submitted a tonne of questions about the build, sizing, possible swaps, and all sorts of things. Each time Andres responded promptly and never made me feel like I was wasting his time. Unfortunately, Andres didn't have the integrated handlebar/stem combo I was looking for so we agreed a price reflecting that and we made the deal. Andres has built up the bike as far as he can and it's now winging its way to me. I'm beyond excited (get it?) for the bike to arrive and thank Andres so much for putting up with all of my questions and indecision. I do wish I'd been able to visit the shop to more fully experience the buying process but maybe I'll get out there one day. As it stands, a 56cm white/chrome Ostro Vam with Sram Force AXS, power meter, and Zipp 404s is heading my way right now! Thank you again Andres!5/8 Update. The bike arrived very well packed. I had a bit of building to do since I wanted a different handlebar setup so just got all of that done. My build is:56cm Factor Ostro VAM in pearl white and chromeSram force axs with quark power meterZipp 404 wheelsBlack inc aero integrated stem and handlebarPirelli P zero 28mil tubeless tire setupSella Italia SLRMy bike has the cycliq fly 6 camera on the back - don’t waste your time with that until the battery can last more than 2 hours!I’ve only ridden the bike up and down the street but it feels solid and everything is rolling smoothly. Thank you again, Andres!8/17: Another update! I took advantage of a sale BA was having and got some new bling for my road bike. I originally had the Sram Force AXS groupset but upgraded. You can see from the pics I didn't stretch for the crankset though - I'm not Bill Gates! Anyway, the groupset arrived and was straight forward to install using a few online videos. I needed to buy a cable routing tool - about $15 on Amazon, and you need a brake bleed kit but I dad one so all good there. The kit is chromed on the brake calipers and levers, then mostly blacked out for the rest of the components which suits my white Factor Ostro VAM with Chrome logos quite nicely. Shifting is smooth and quiet except for the chain's noise which you would get with all groupsets. Shifting is intuitive with my setup being the right lever shifts to a higher gear and the left lever shifting to a lower gear - different from the mechanical setup but perhaps more logical. I can't speak to feeling a weight difference - I'm not that much of a weight weenie - but there is a psychological affect to having Sram's top groupset on your bike. Does the upgrade make me faster? Probably not. But does the upgrade make me feel faster? Absolutely! Call it superficial if you want but I like it! All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the purchase and Andres made it super simple to order, as always. Thanks Andres!”

“The biggest in stock selection of Smith sunglasses I found in the area. It was great to be able to try a few different models instead of ordering them online hoping they would fit me.
The staff was very helpful and didn’t rush me through trying them on.
Bought a pair of the Smith Ruckus and love them!”

“Great local bike shop in our community. Bought a SE BMX bike for my 6 year old at a great price. Tired of junky kids bikes from Walmart or Target then try this shop. Owner mentioned he has had his own bike shop for over 20 years and has been selling bikes for over 30.”

“They were quick and attentive in getting my inner tubes replaced, and generally pretty friendly. Unfortunately one of them went flat before I could even ride it and they were unwilling to replace it without cost or even a discount, citing “no shop does warranties on replacements.” Had a different bike shop help out and found the tube they put in was super thin for the tire size and had a hole in it.

I’m sure they’re fine for most jobs and I appreciate their existence for the community, but probably won’t be back.”

“Doug converted two comfort bikes for us in 2016. We have almost 4000 miles on both. We have had only very minor problems with the bikes. We now live in Oregon but we still consult Doug whenever we have questions. He has been very good at responding to any questions and giving his advice. We are really happy with his service. We highly recommend him.”

“Josh is the best! My wife needed new road bike shoes as her Sidis never fitted her well. When we walked in we were welcomed by Josh who took so much time explaining the ins and outs of each shoe. We never felt pressured, all in all this was such a very positive experience! Thank you Josh”

“I bought my Specialized levo mountain bike at Encina bicycles shop. They are connected with Clayton bicycle center. Both places are fantastic. The store service people are very friendly and very knowledgeable. I especially want to thank Jeff and Joey. Those guys are awesome and they let me try out different bikes to get a feel first. When you buy a specialized mountain bike they cover the service labor cost. I had my first service done at the Clayton bicycle shop and they did a fantastic job. They go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. It was the first ebike I've ever purchased. I have back, neck and knee issues so they guided me to a full suspension e-bike, which was definitely the way to go for me. I can finally get some mobility and freedom, while exercising easier with less pain. Remember to ask if there are any specials going on and you could get a good discount. Also take advantage of the Contra Costa County Ebike rebate on 511.org contra costa county to save some additional money on your ebike purchase.”
