“The staff at Point Vicente are always so caring and nice. They take the time to listen to your concerns and give you options - never making you feel like you have to get the most expensive service. They are always willing to work with you. They have been taking care of my pets since 2020. Dr. Micco is their main doctor but they have been seen by Dr. B and Dr. Jones in the past.

Whenever we would discuss care for my pet, she would consult the other doctors and they would come up with a solution together. All in all, I've had great experiences when taking my pets to Point Vicente.”

She did the most thorough exam I think I've ever had. She offered me multiple options to help with some of the concerns I had. She even prioritized things for me and wasn't pushy about doing all of it now knowing that I don't have a lot of money. “Dr. Abigail Elliot and the Country Hills team are the best! Not only do they lovingly care for my own indoor cats, they recently helped us with an outdoor stray cat that we had unofficially adopted.

Curly Boy showed up on our doorstep night after night for months. He had no collar, and it seemed as though he was abandoned. For over a year, we fed him and even housed him in our heated front porch cathouse. He would spend all of his time in our yard and cuddling with us on our outdoor couch. We came to love him very much, as if he was our own.

One day came that we noticed he was injured and had a bad limp, so we made the decision to bring him inside in order to protect him from predators. We made an appointment with Dr. Elliot to have him examined later in the week. Meanwhile, he spent his days filled resting in comfort on our bed and watching TV with us. He adapted to indoor life well and he was living the life of Riley. Slowly, but surely getting better.

We brought him to Dr. Elliot and she carefully examined him, finding that he had improved since we had brought him inside. While we were there, we wanted to have him scanned for a microchip as well. He had seemed domesticated, we knew he was fixed, but all other signs led us to believe he had been abandoned. Sure enough, he had a chip!

As it turned out, he HAD been abandoned… although, not intentionally. His name was Kylo and his owners once lived on the next street over from us. He had gone missing two years prior, and sadly the owners had to move away 6 months after that. For us, that was around the time he started hanging around more often. Poor little guy was homeless, so he latched onto us tightly.

Anyway, Dr. Elliot spent a good amount of time examining Curly Boy a.k.a. Kylo, she offered medical advice, and helped us locate the long-lost owners. She even allowed us to wait past closing time to meet with the owners, and all of it was free of charge.

It’s very clear to us that Dr. Elliot cares deeply about animals. She is very professional and compassionate. I will always trust her with my fur babies. Thank you Dr. Elliot & Team!

P.S. As for the owners, they were shocked to discover that he was alive and well. He had belonged to a 12 year-old girl, who was devastated when he went missing. The girl is 14 now, and she cried tears of joy to have her Kylo back. It was a very happy ending for Kylo and his girl! ♥️”

“Dr. A (Andrew Arriola) and the whole staff at Animal Hospital of South Bay is wonderful. I brought my dog, Sophie, a 7 year old maltese-shih tzu, here after leaving my previous vet, just for a routine checkup as well as to observe a cough she had developed. He diagnosed her that day with heart disease which was obviously a shock as she had been nothing but healthy according to our previous vet. He took X-rays and showed us everything and walked us through it all.

As a puppy, we were told by our previous vet that she had a heart murmur but to bring her in every 6 months for a check up so they could continue to keep an eye on it. We thought they were monitoring it but according to Dr. A, they were not. This was extremely jarring to hear but Dr. A was very reassuring that with proper medication (that we started immediately) and seeking a cardiologist, we could delay her heart failure. Throughout this whole process Dr. A understood our surprise, sadness, and frustrations and did an amazing job at educating and comforting me and my family.

After following the proper protocol and doing everything we could for Sophie to ensure she was comfortable, we unfortunately made the decision to euthanize and, when we did, Dr. A and his staff were extremely supportive. After her passing, we received a card signed by all the staff members which meant a lot. Although we lost Sophie, Dr. A was able to buy us invaluable time with her that we wouldn't have gotten had we never gone to him and stayed at our previous vet -- grateful doesn't even begin to cover it.”

“I can't say enough about the amazing team at BARC. My senior French Bulldog Kirby goes for physical therapy and acupuncture and they have provided top notch care. She recently had an IVDD flare up and bounced right back which I believe is due to the care she has received during preventative PT and accupuncture sessions. “Amazing facility with the most thoughtful, dog loving team. My dog had a nerve impingement in her neck which resulted in her not being able to bear weight on her left leg. We found BARC and she was taken care of by the amazing staff here. They were so gentle with her and knowledgeable. She's done 8 sessions of physical therapy and acupuncture so far and she is able to walk and has recovered 90%!! The staff here is just wonderful and you can really tell that they care about your dog. My dog and all of us feel so comfortable here. We are so glad and grateful to have found BARC.
