I rented a car from AVIS February 23-25, 2024, as I was driving I noticed that the gas gauge was less than 3/4 full so I took a picture of it. I returned the car with a full tank of gas and requested a refund. As of March 1, 2024, I have not received a response on what AVIS will do. Roy Van Broekhuizen Wizard Number: 2YV10G

My car rental experience would have been 5 star here if I received a vehicle with a full tank of gas. Instead I get a rental agreement saying the tank is 8/8 yet my vehicle has 3/4 tank. This is the second time I received a Avis vehicle in CA that’s not full.The two gentlemen working the desk on 2/10 morning were great, if my car had a full tank this would’ve been a 5 star experience.

I was not able to redeem my coupon for a discount because I Presented the coupon when I returned the car. Which makes no sense.When I return the car, I had to pay for it so naturally, I will present the coupon. Then the gentleman the service provider at the front desk was rude and said I should’ve presented it beforehand. I didn’t know there were rules to a coupon.

On the 30th of December I arrived at the office to pick up the car that I had booked, however I was told, without any other explanation and on a rude way, that I had to wait between 30 minutes and 1 hour, as they had no cars available.How is possible to rent a car with Avis and then they don't have cars available??At the end I only can say customer service and rental car service provided at Long Beach very very poor. I will not rent a car there ever again!

One of the worst customer service experience. - No cars available at pick up time- Wait for 2hrs for information and updates - no details was offered.- no update information or time frames for the waiting time- employees demonstrate no care or consideration about the situation

Had a problem with the car we rented and was told to take it to a location close to where we were at. When we arrived we were told they did not have any cars to trade us into and the only location that has cars is possibly at the Ontario airport, so we drove almost an hour to trade the car. Upon arrival at the airport, we had to wait about 60 minutes to get another car. The car that was given to us was a down grade from what we rented, no adjustment to the price was made yet they charged me for fuel for driving around to exchange this car. I don’t see where this is fair and no consideration of our time or the inconvenience of returning the defective vehicle was offered.

Pros:-new smooth running clean interior car (approx. 12k)-friendly counter repCons:-had to wait about 15minutes to pick up car-car had obvious external damage upon pick-up yet we were not informedWould give 4.5 stars if there was one available.

AVIS has always been good to me; especially when they’re issues associated with “automated” computer processing which does not result in my favor. Their customer service is great-probably one of the best customer service Depts of all companies. Their cars have always been top notch as well. I really appreciate the free upgrades particularly due to my physical issues. Thanks AVIS

Re rental agreement # 614698394When we picked up the car, the office was very busy; the Avis personnel did NOT tell us about the fact that the fuel tank was NOT full.Our receipt shows that the outgoing gas level was 8.1 and the incoming is 15.8We filled the tank at our local Costco Gas station $4.999.Please refund the extra 7.7 gallons @ $4.999 = $38.49As a side comment, your telephone system does not allow us to talk to the Avis pick-up location. This results in a LOT of wasted time for both us clients as your central office. The actual location turned out to be 249 East Ocean Blvd, Long Beach. But depending on who we talked to at the central office the location was cited as being 100 Swinford Street Long Beach and the printout said it was the Icb Building Downtown LB5 --- which turns out to the on 249 East Ocean Blvd.

Reserved a hybrid. They gave us an EV and said to return it at 70%. We looked over the car and found that the capacity was only at 38%. Went back to the counter. Decided we just wanted our reserved hybrid. They said they do not have any available, thus the 'free' upgrade. They then said they do not have any standard nor full size available. The agent finally gave us a Mazda. The whole process took almost an hour. The return at Long Beach location was smooth, and the agents there were very courteous.

Initially, I would have given the LAX center a 2 out of 5. I reserved a mid-size SUV which all of their mid-size SUVs were not as big as my mid-size SUV and didn't fit the luggage we had. I eventually was upgraded to a full-size SUV after two that didn't work, so I increased this to a 4 star rating. People there are hit or miss and there is a decent amount of confusion, but overall willing to help.
