I booked a prepaid car more than 48 hours before the pick-up, the money was debited on my account, then I received a text message CONFIRMING that the car was available at .... another location. As You cannot reply to those text msgs, I emailed the address provided to ask for a clarification, but did not receive a reply. Then, I received another text msg in a poor English, indication that there would be no car available at this location and advising to call other location or customer service.I called customer service, for them to fix the issue and they, instead, transferred me to this station. The agent over there said "Unfortunately, we will not be able" then the call got disconnected. They did not bother to call me although they had my reservation and my information, which includes my phone #.Aggravation guaranteed at this station, which apparently is poorly supervised by Avis Corporate. The overall Google rating is justified.

Don't ever rent from this location. I rented a long-term rental from Uber's Rental Program at $331 a week, not counting the weeks I did pay, at the end of it I ended up with a 7k credit card bill after missing only three weeks of payments. At first, they didn't call me till two weeks after missing payments and it was close to the third payment date, my credit card had the funds available but this company I guess has a bad reputation with credit card companies so they see the charges as fraudulent until you call them and confirm, and like another reviewer said the representatives of the business do call you and say you have no money on your card everytime you miss a payment, it happened basically every time even with using two different credit cards. I had to catch up on three weeks payments all at once so that's 1k out of a 2k card limit and again and again week after week "You missed a payment" then they double charge your card and triple charge your card until all missed payments are paid or your card gets maxed out whichever comes first and I have to keep calling the credit company to authorize the charges. That eventually led me to being late on charges. When I was late 3 weeks on my payments I asked them if I could keep renting the car while it takes two days for the funds to be available so I could catch up on payments, they said no. The car got repoed the next day and later I got a bill from my credit card with Avis charging me 7k and change. 7k! I was renting at $331 a week so even if I missed a month of payments $1,324. I called the Avis/Budget company's billing department directly to review the charges and they took less than $500 off. I asked them what I was charged for and they couldn't tell me. They did claim I was late two months and to call from where I rented so I called this location and they told me the car wasn't on the lot, and that the person who repoed the car sent it to one of Avis/Budget Long Beach locations, so I'm paying for another person's mistake? They also told me I was paying for the time the car takes to be maintainced and cleaned to be re-rented, I had no control over how, where, when, what, or nothing of the vehicle but I'm told I'm paying for all the time the vehicle isn't on the lot. Even with that extra month that's less than 3k and I never got a bill showing how that 7k and change was billed or what I was billed for. I did get two separate bills both combined for less than $500, one for a ticket and one for pet hair damage, That's $3500 but I'm being charged more than double. I never had a pet in or anywhere near the car. I also got arrested while I was renting the car saying that the car had been stolen since the year prior to when I was renting! I don't know what was going on there and neither did the cop but the cop told me to return the vehicle and I should have listened because renting from this location was the worst mistake of my life.

Like most people on here if we could give 0 stars we would. If you can avoid this place please do so. The Agency Operator clearly told us we would get a reimbursement for them not having a replacement truck after our rental truck was stolen and was not drivable, they expected us to wait until the next day to see if they had any replacements. Wouldn't you think they have some trucks reserved for emergency cases but guess what they are such a shitty company that they don't and expect you to go get a hotel while you wait like in our case but never explained to us that they would reimburse us for that as well but i honestly doubt it. So just know this place is full of shiiit and a..holes like Brian and their PTM team. If you were to get stuck in the middle of nowhere imagine if they had no replacement truck until days after? So we got no refund, no replacement truck, seems like an inside job now if you ask me. Scamming customers. Bbb will be getting notified about this situation.

I have rented many times from Avis, but previous rentals were gas powered cars. In April, 2023, I rented a Tesla. To my surprise after returning the car, I have been billed $142.50, $246.50, $28.50, $233.69, $98.96, $63.00, $100.40 and their explanation is charges for supercharging the Tesla and idle fees. There is no human explanation nor website for these charges. Please do not rent an EVcar from Avis/Budget unless theyexplain the charging fees and e-tollFees upfront.Otherwise, you will be surprised and upset because they don't credit the charges, only try to justify them. Not fair to the customer. This review is about the Avis/Budget office located at 9217 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles, CAI've never rented from 647 Mateo St.

DEAR MANAGEMENT, do not list cars if they are not available.I booked a car via Priceline for December 31st 2021, it means that it's available, if it's not available I wasn't able to book it, right? So I'm excited planning my holiday trip to visit my family and friends, which happens ONCE PER YEAR!What should make me think that car is NOT available if it says "Congrats, your rental car for Friday, December 31, 2021 is confirmed!"? Oh yea, the employee calling 1.5 hours before pick up time to let you know they don't have any cars.Where can I get a car on December 31st? It's almost impossible or very expensive. As a customer, I should not care about your stories why you don't have a car for me today. It's just wrong. All I need is to get the car you promised to rent at a specific day and time.

If you care about renting a safe vehicle I wouldn't advise this Avis 647 Mateo St location because This location do NOT care about your safety. Manager Brian Pocock rented me a vehicle with a nail in the tire and when I showed him the nail he said, that he checked everything on the vehicle already. He also said to drive the car on till the tire goes down and then I can bring the vehicle back to him. What a disrespectful person he isAlso he didn't give me a refund so I had to call Avis head office so they can work on getting my refund

Hope you don't have to rent from here. There's better options around town. Feels like they cannot accommodate customer rental needs sufficiently. There are only a few heavily worn and broken down vehicles. I'm not sure how they still stay in business.

Rented a car through the Uber program. Car starter went out in the middle of my shift. Waited 5 or 6 hours before I got the car towed. Got charged for the gas not in the vehicle but when I received the vehicle with less gas than I had before it broke down. Stated verbally they'll collect weekly dues on Wednesdays every week. They extracted money any day of the week which is an inconvenience because I had other bills due. Charged me for the stains that were in the car before I even got the keys which was 120$. Every time I changed methods of payment they charged two different cards in a week which was another inconvenience cause they overdrafted plenty accounts numerous. Tried to charge me weekly dues three times in one week because they said I was over due from the last week. Overall they're not worth the cheap price cause you'll end up paying more. Got put in a financial conniption because of bad business practices and contract breaches. Don't rent from them. Or you'll be 3.5K in the hole.

I arrived at this rental place after searching the internet for an available car rental. I had to Uber here and spend money upon receiving a confirmation that a car was available. When I got here I was told that they didn't have any rentals available for three days despite their advertising and had an employee busy canceling rentals and refunding payments. I was also told non-chalauntly that I should try the airport like they assumed that I had a way to get there! I would not recommend that anyone rent from this place because they don't care to advertise the truth in their practices. Phil.

Absolutely HORRIBLEUpon arrival they needed my passport (even the booking only said credit card and driving license was needed). Had to go back to my hotel and pic up my passport. An arrogant man started to claim me for not book the car through avis.com but other online companies. I had to show him the reservation (made directly on avis.com) , no apologies but continued being arrogant.I'm Avis Preferred Plus customer and my reservation had clearly one extra driver for 0.00 USD. This was not accepted and we had to pay extra for one extra driver. The car itself was one of the worse rental car I've had.I've sent a written complain to Avis asking for my money back for the extra driver they charged for. Still no answer.I'll never rent a car again at this location, probably not at any AVIS offices with this horrible service.

They deserve 0 stars! I never like to leave bad reviews but they oversold their reservations, and then we’re completely unaccommodating. DO NOT RENT.

Keep your eye on your account with avis and keep every documents recites. I literally watch my account get money taken out from avis. Then get a call back and they say you need return the car back for no payment. Then show them all the proof and they still say its not enough. No wonder they take cash they want everything done through card. Dirty car to when i got it. Avis will have you questioning your sanity and realities. I will neve do business with avis any more. They first will blame on you by saying you have no money show themThen blame on your bankTo find out it avis fault for doing there job we have to pay for avis mistake

Consider other places; this location just canceled my booking. I am supposed to have a car this morning. I booked 2 weeks ago. What alternatives do I have at the last minute? Unreliable un unprofessional. ?

Jesse answered my call twice today and told me to hold. Kept me waiting till I hung up the phone. What kind of service are they providing here at Avis car rental. You can't ask questions about anything at this Avis car rental site.
