Good bank but beware they show you your Transunion score on their online banking app but they use your Experian Score for their loans which is a different algorithm which can be up to 25 points lower! I would have been managing my money totally differently and reviewed Experian boost before hand had I known of this.

I had the occasion today to visit this branch as I did not care for the lack of courtesy that I got from my normal local Burbank branch. Straight away I was greeted with 23 ounces of respect and courtesy via a sincere how may I help you today? From this branch manager to his agents whom listened to my needs and took action to give me an update via a foreign collections matter. I left with a smile on my face knowing that they will follow through:) Easy to find parking, pleasant staff and again I was treated with a degree of courtesy which one would hope to get from their bank and where they've done business and or held an account for as long as Ive been working in the television and film industry. Looking back this same branch gave me my first loan way back when I was a runner for Epic and Vision Films in the 90s. Thus I have but good things to say and good thoughts to think of this branch and the sincere service they provide.

If I could give no stars I would. This is not directed at any branch per se, it goes to the overall credit union. Shortest hours, worst service, random limits put into place. I have four accounts with them for years now. Four accounts because they force you to open a savings account that I didn't need along with the checking accounts. Every six months I need to distribute monies to other people and every damn time I am made to jump through hoops for the most simple transactions. I am done. So much for supporting my industry. Do yourself a favor and find a bank that is operating in modern times.

They made it extremely hard for me to pay off my mortgage and home equity line of credit. They actually rejected the final payment for the mortgage and sent it back to my bank. And when I went in, the bank teller named Sahara didn't want to accept the payment. For the HELOC, they kept adding new fees. I complained to the California Banking Commission and just got a refund via cashiers check for one of the mysterious HELOC fees. My first name is misspelled on the check. Typical.

The customer service has gone to shit. Hope long hold times. Unacceptable for a not for profit, member owned institution.

Absolutely awful! My car broker negotiated a loan with them for a new car - advising me there was no penalty for paying the car off in full, which I did in July. I have yet to receive the title for my car. It is now October. They are holding the title to my car - that I own outright - hostage. Additionally, each time I call, they tell me it's a clerical error or that they will now submit to the state DMV. It is time to engage with legal counsel as I paid off the car and I own it, yet have no proof of ownership since First Entertainment Credit Union refuses to send me the title, which I am rightfully due.

I have been using this credit union for almost 3 years in addition to my Wells Fargo checking which I have had for 23 years. I love the First Entertainment checking account because when I deposit my paycheck on the app, the entire check is instantly available but Wells Fargo only gives me $400 until the next business day. I recently applied for a car loan with them and the experience was great. Before I completed the application online, I called and got help filling out the application properly. My auto loan was approved the same day. And, they also gave me good advice for going to the dealer with my approval letter because the dealerships love to try and run your credit again. They also offered me a credit card AND a line of credit using just the one single inquiry on my Experian credit report. Very pleased with the outcome and my beautiful new Cadillac.

Horrible service. It was far better with tellers at their windows. Now its "book an appointment" and you call in to book and the call center says you dont need one, just go in. Go in and there maître d' is rude, demanding whats you business and "you can use the atm for that" (no, i can't, its an in person transaction only). Then condescending and telling you that you can try another branch (next nearest is an hour away).Just admit you screwed up and return to tellers at the windows...... and have more than TWO of ther SLOWEST people I've seen working. If i worked that slowly, id be fired.Eta.They say they're there to help, and know how or schedules work to "work with us".Nothing is further from there truth. It's now all make an appointment, then you get there and its either they have no record of the appointment (even though you show them the text confirmation) or you're waiting 45 minutes anyway.Employees are condescending, rude, have no concept of the real world. There are other places to bank.Shareholders are treated like dirt,

This is absolutely the worst financial institution. Just to let you know what type of financial institution this is, I will give you an example. I was out of town working and was short 35 cents in my checking account. They returned a payment and charged me $30 for being short $0.35. Yes, 35 cents! I have since closed all of my accounts and moved my funds to another much more reliable and dependable financial institution. Stay clear from this institution. Truly despicable financial institution!

We have been using them for many years and have most of our major accounts with them. They are good for many simple things. THAT SAID... First Entertainment Credit Union is deciding to play it conservatively during the strike. Letters and posts about "caring for your finances" are essentially lip service. Don't count on them. One would think that members with TONS of equity in a house could get a HELOC right now (when it would be a very useful way of consolidating bills, tiding over during the strike, etc. Instead, FECU is saying no - even to people with stellar 830+ credit scores, flawless payment histories, a million+ in equity in a house. The reason? DECLINING INCOME! Uh DUH??? There is a real irony to a credit union that is ABOUT HOLLYWOOD WORKERS doesn't seem to be stepping up to the plate at all - and that a SAFE investment on their part is being denied. AND THEN THEY HAVE THE GALL TO PRETEND THAT THEY ARE DOING A MEMBER A FAVOR BY DENYING A HELOC??? SHAME ON YOU FIRST ENTERTAINMENT.

I love my Credit Union! I usually bank at the Culver City location. They always take great care of me. I've had Personal loans and Car loans from them and up next hopefully a Home loan! It also helps that I work in the Entertainment Industry making direct deposits from the Payroll companies easier. I'm pretty sure this will be my bank for the rest of my life.

Fire Cindy from the collections department, terminate her with prejudice. There is no way that customer service should consist of personal threats, disparaging remarks, rude, condescending and disrespectful taunts through verbalization meant to humiliate, and trample over another persons, pride, physical disability and intelligence

I had an excellent experience yesterday with Melissa Ramirez at their main branch in Hollywood. Last year she helped me cleanup my banking problems when I was hacked by scammers. Yesterday she helped me again with an IRS problem and once again was so kind!!

I cannot even give credit to how human my experience always is with First Entertainment Credit union. Ana from the WB Lot keeps you in the loop about the loan process and had helpful suggestions for the future. My experience has always been positive and I have never felt judged but supported by a community.

For a credit union they can be SO corporate! SO many restrictive policies (but then they lack the resources to make up for it with amenities that the big banks don't have.) Don't expect their ATM debit card to work very well out of town, either. It strands me at out-of-state gas pumps, trying to book lodging in Mexico (even with travel settings enabled.) You will still have to have a regular bank account, so when one tells you 'no', the other one will let you use your own money (this one won't even answer the phone after business hours to respond to a card issuer block- ripe for a California State's Attorney General investigation.)
