The Dixie Hollywood Hotel is a decent, good-value hotel in a convenient location on Hollywood Boulevard in Thai Town. It offers nice, spacious, and clean rooms with daily towel service. Amenities include working refrigerators, microwaves, and air conditioning, along with free parking and on-site security at night. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, including to its pool. The location is excellent for exploration. It is within walking distance of many attractions, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, Griffith Park, the Griffith Observatory, and the Greek Theater. The area offers great food options, with many amazing Thai restaurants nearby, a good coffee shop, and supermarkets like Ralphs and Lazy Acres Organic Natural Foods Market across the street or a block away, which are handy for snacks and ready-to-eat meals. The reception staff are friendly, excellent, and very helpful, assisting with luggage storage and providing local recommendations. However, the hotel itself is old, with very old rooms in a motel-style setup. Some noise from neighbors and the street can be heard through the walls. The immediate area on Hollywood Boulevard has a visible homeless population, which can lead to unpleasant smells and occasional street noise, but walking during the day and early evening feels safe. Overall, it is a clean, convenient, and good place to stay for accessing cool spots, though it is not a fancy resort. Guests should be prepared for the realities of its urban LA location.
Great location, staff is friendly enough. Definitely a bit dingy, didn’t even have outlet covers. The worst bed I have ever had the misfortune of sleeping on. Also the walls are paper thin.

This hotel doesn’t really deserve three stars, it feels more like a motel. The rooms were clean, but there was a strange smell in them. The staff were friendly and helpful, but there’s no designated smoking area, not even outdoors, so you have to go out to the street to smoke.
