The Dr. Martens store on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles is a haven for footwear enthusiasts seeking iconic styles and timeless fashion. Nestled among the vibrant streets, this store stands out as a hub for quality, durability, and a distinct sense of style. The store's interior is sleek and modern, providing a fitting backdrop for showcasing the extensive collection of boots, shoes, and accessories. The brand's signature boots, known for their durability and comfort, take center stage, displaying an array of designs, from classic black leather to vibrant and innovative patterns. The staff at Dr. Martens are knowledgeable and passionate about their products, offering personalized assistance and guidance in selecting the perfect pair. Their commitment to customer satisfaction elevates the shopping experience, making it both enjoyable and informative. However, given the brand's popularity and the store's prime location, it can get crowded, especially during peak hours and weekends. Hurts to have to give this rating to any sector of a brand I've proudly worn and loved for 20+ years now; however the experience this location provided today was disappointing to say the least. Visited the Silverlake Dr.Martens today and was surprised at the level of service I was given that boar communication that was dismissive, rude, and had no interest in getting to know the customer, show empathy, or to offer partnership in navigating solution in a product that didn't work out; on the contrary the associate from start to finish was defensive/challenging at every exchange in conversation. To take for granted ANY foot traffic coming through a retail locations doors is foolish, it's the reason that brick and mortar locations continue to have purpose and power to prevail in the digital age we're in. Having a return from another location to process is not sexy for store teams, I understand this having worked retail for 17 years 11 of which as a Store Director; however store locations should seize these scenarios as opportunities to deliver exceptional service, potentially neutralize a return into an exchange (or even a sale), maintain/protect the retention of its customers loyalty, and uphold the integrity of the brands values in how it prioritizes customer service. I was met with service that had no interest in turning my return into an exchange/sale. I was challenged at the validity of my receipt and asked to "prove" that I paid with Apple Pay as it showed on my receipt. (Offensive and condescending which I doubt is part of the operating standards in return handling) and thereafter told I had to call customer care when I was in store-- WITH A RECEIPT from another store sale made the week prior. I get it, returns suck-- but that doesn't warrant the service you give to a paying customer to be ANY less than otherwise. As mentioned previously we retail shop owner operate in a reality where e-commerce and convenience drive conversion for consumers and their number of choices they can exercise this in addition to yours is competitive and growing. Having intentionality in consistently delivering EXCEPTIONAL service to customers that they can't get online is the only way to operate a retail location keeping in mind customers who visit you are choosing to get in their car, travel to your location, and give their time and engage with your store teams to spend their earned money when they could just stay on the couch and order online otherwise--- they're giving your store reason to have purpose and the potential to grow as a company-- it's not only in poor fashion to display bad service, it's 100% a show of poor leadership and business practice. . Store looked great, I'll be fair and say that; and the other associate was pleasant though the gentleman handling the register and my transaction was condescending, and overall doing anything he could to deter a return even at the risk of losing a 20+ year long customers business.

I've been meaning to purchase some docs and decided to hit the store in person instead of online. The silver lake spot is awesome! It's a little store that some may call "cute." There is a lower and upper part of the store and they feature a lift for anyone who cannot take the stairs (+1 in my book). They were nearing closing time so it was pretty quiet in there but that meant that all three employees were helping us out! They were all very knowledgeable and kind - with their help we picked out the exact styles we wanted. One thing that stood out was their help in selecting the correct size to fit my foot - being leather it was recommended to purchase boots that are "as snug as comfortably possible" because that would be the tightest they would ever be upon breaking them in. I think my foot is in between sizes but that's when I was recommended the insoles which helped me to almost perfectly fit in the boots I purchased! Not to mentioned that they even put the insoles in the boot for me upon purchase. Unfortunately I cannot remember the names of the employees but if these 3 are as awesome as the rest of their staff, you can't go wrong stopping here for your next pair of docs!

I hope they get better workers. The workers are not happy. They also have bad hygiene, they need to brush and floss. I can smell what they had for lunch and what they smoke. The nails didn't look well groomed for working in such a professional setting. I've been turned off on wearing DOCS. bc of the fake people who bring an energy of me not wanting to shop. When I walked in, it felt like I was disturbing the free time they had, don't shop here. Nordstroms has better service.
