“Both our boys, who are now 9 and 12, went through Under the Oaks Preschool. We spent about 5 years at the school, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Sunshine is absolutely gifted with children. She connects with them deeply, she speaks their language, and she guides them so gently.

It is hard to describe the magic that happens at Under the Oaks. The moment you come down the stairs into the yard with the big oak tree, you know that you have found something special — a place where children can play in nature and learn with the rhythms of the year, singing and dancing to the beautiful Waldorf songs.

Soup Day, Bread Day, and Painting Day marked the days of the week, and our boys cherished each one.

I look back at our time at UTO with a full heart, so grateful for the beautiful memories, the friendships, and a community of wonderfully like-minded people.”

“This is one of my favorite places on the planet. Both of my children attended this school (from ages 2-4 and 3-5 respectively) and loved it. I felt so good about dropping off my children here, I really watched them flourish and grow in their time at the school. The yard is amazing. The kids spend so much time outside in nature. The hands on learning is excellent, the kids spend time in the kitchen and sewing and gardening. The teachers guide the children's social emotional learning as well incorporating academics in an age appropriate manner. It's a special place that really embraces the children.”

“Gan is truly one of the most special places a parent can send their kids to. My twin boys have attended summer camp the last 3 summers while we are visiting Malibu. Sarah, MaKayla, and the other teachers provide so much warmth and kindness and everyday my kids run right through the doors because they are excited for the thoughtfully designed activities for the day. My boys especially love beach day, field trips around Malibu, and painting with views of the Malibu pier. Each summer they leave with so many new experiences and learnings. As a parent, knowing that you are dropping your kids off in an environment where not only they are being cared for, but having the time of their lives is priceless.
