Thanks to the hard working people at Vons in Mammoth!! This a very challenging environment and being the main source of our food and supplies, we all rely on them!! Everyone is always so kind and caring about their customers and neighbors!! Thanks guys! Shout out Bonnie, working for us, while fighting her own personal battle!!

Great place to get food however you should try avoiding the old unhappy grouchy lady at self checkout. All the other workers seem to be pretty cool.

Vons is by far the best grocery store in town. Not only rich in all the food you need, but Vons also has gifts certificates, toys, office supplies, books and tons more. Would definitely recommend for anyone in need of anything.

This store has anything you may need and the prices are reasonable considering where you are. Locals are very nice.

On 9/19/23 at 7 am. Not one checkout open. Went to self checkout with a basket full of groceries, lots of bagged produce. Rude and angry Vons employee said, "Complain to Corporate, they don't want to pay us so you get self checkout. " When I asked her to help me, she said "Self checkout means you do it yourself. Don't blame me. " Screw the customer, rude unhelpful staff.

If you've been to Mammoth, as we have many times over the past 40 years or more, you know that Von's has the hold on the grocery market. I've never been unhappy about that until this trip. First of all, we bought some shrimp for our cocktail hour at the condo. I sent my husband to get them at the meat counter while I searched for a few other items (we spent a lot of $$$ on our first stop at Von's as our adult kids were on their way to join us). I told him to get 20 shrimp. When I opened the package that night at our condo, I found the butcher had put 30 shrimp in the package which means we paid for 50% more shrimp than we ordered - neat trick if you do that with every customer.A couple of days later, I stopped to get more items for dinner and added some ice cream that was on sale. We had purchased some on our first trip and the sale sign was still posted. I used self checkout on that trip and found I was charged the regular price instead of the posted sale price. If I had not been in a hurry, I would have hunted down the manager.I shop frequently at our local Vons, but now I'm sorry there are not more options in Mammoth. I noticed there is now a discount grocer down the road and, although I've never tried that chain in the past, I will certainly be checking it out the next time we are in Mammoth.

I mean 350 bucks for 4 bags. See photo is a lot but I guess I am on vacation. Selection was good. I wish I tried one of the others first. This was wicked expensive.

My wife and I went to the Starbucks at this Vons on the morning of 8/27/23 and my father stayed in the car with our toddler. The wait at the Starbucks was extremely long so my wife asked me to go back to the car to help keep my son entertained. I decided to move our vehicle to the loading zone immediately in front of the storefront so my wife who is in the third trimester of pregnancy wouldn’t have to walk far. Soon after an obese vons employee with a mullet walked in and complained aloud that someone was parked in the fire lane. My wife pointed out that her car was not in a fire lane but a clearly marked loading zone and told them that her husband was waiting for her in the car and this troll of a vons employee then told my wife she was entitled and privileged. I absolutely cannot believe that Vons would allow an employee, In uniform, on site to talk so disrespectfully to any customer, let alone a customer who is very clearly pregnant.

Avoid the cashier by the name Patricia Castillo. Older heavy set lady. Attitude was so bad, like who even leaves a review on a grocery store? It was literally that bad. Super rude!! Where are they finding their employees from? Needed to go on a restock but definitely avoided going here. Hope she have a better day tomorrow. Vieja was rude for no reason. Jeez

Probably the most over priced grocery in a resort area I've ever seen. Selections are decent but the meat dept lacks a lot to say the least, very few choices. As far as going in the mornings better have 15 minutes to burn. Always understaffed at check out. Mostly forestry guys and construction workers grabbing their lunch box supplies. Dont aee why self checkout isnt open early. Always 10 or more people in line for 1 cashier

They don't even try. I spent 35 years in the industry. The store is embarrassing beyond anything I can imagine. Horrible management, employees do not engage at all. In their management meetings, they must say, let's be the worst we can be.

Customer service was really terrible :/I came in the morning (super empty but July 4th weekend) and bought 2 Red Bulls to hopefully get some cash back since the Well Fargo ATM inside Vons AND the BOA ATM weren't in service. I asked if they offered cash back. Cashier said yes, but she wouldn't be able to give me much. I wanted $30 to pay for base parking at Main Lodge. She said $30 was ok for her to do. Great. Here's where it goes south. I type in my #, and I tap to pay. She looks at me the entire time. I had asked and wanted cash back. She processes the payment and says "by the way, tap processes as credit" Me: really? Dang. Her: yup. -continues to scan the customer behind me- The part that irritates me is that she was SLOW at scanning anyways yet rushed me off her register to help the customer behind me. Couldn't care less that my purchase was due to wanting cashback and it wasn't successful. It seemed like she didn't want to do a "cashback" scenario. She genuinely did not care. I've worked as a cashier in an low-income community and I have never treated customers like this. She knew I wanted cash back but watched me tap and didn't say "hey, make sure you insert your card for cashback". I was so disgusted by this women's service that I refuse to ever shop here again. I know I'm just one customer but wow. If you don't want to provide customer service, perhaps choose a different field? I'm appalled. Why not open self-check out in the mornings? I could've avoided her nasty attitude and lack of customer service AND gotten cash back if self-checkout was open and available for use.
