“I was in a real jam and these guys came through. I'm an out-of-towner. I needed a tire replaced and had to get my kid to an appointment. They were in the shop and opened early for me. They took care of the job right away, and they didn't bend me over a barrel for costs to take advantage of my situation. Incredibly kind, and I'm thankful!”
“I had the best experience at Sullivan Tires just a few days ago. I needed a couple of new tires. Louis Flores was my sales rep. He’s really a great guy, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was exceptionally great that he could call UBER for me so I didn’t have to go through that hassle. They also arrange for an Uber driver to pick me up when they were finished putting my new tires on. I will definitely go back to Sullivan Tires again the next time I need Tires. “I am not a regular customer as I drive an EV. However, when my daughter and her three kids drove down for the night from the San Jose area, I used my daughter’s Audi to drop them off at the Aquarium. On the drive home, a warning light came up on the Audi dashboard that the car was a quart low. I initially thought I’d buy a quart of oil at the convenience store, pour it into the oil reservoir and I could rest easy that my daughter and grandkids were safe to drive home. Little did I realize that adding a quart of oil to an Audi is harder than getting a cat to like a dog. First, I couldn’t find the dip stick (other than looking in a mirror), much less the oil reservoir. I looked it up in the car manual in the glove box but the reservoir is hidden under plastic panels that are anything but easy to remove. Finally, in a moment of inspiration, I stopped by Matteson’s Auto Repair in downtown Pacific Grove who explained that there are no dipsticks any more and that they would be happy to help me. They literally stopped what they were doing and added a quart of oil faster than an Indy 500 pit crew. The owner refused to accept anything more than a nominal fee so I tipped the mechanic with his permission. Anyway, the point of this story is that Matteson’s knows how to treat customers and the fact they wouldn’t accept more than a token charge for my stop-the-presses oil change, tells that they are honest guys who deserve more business. Well done and thank you!!”

“I have been reluctant to take my truck anywhere because I know I have transmission issues but not sure if they are major or minor. I needed someone I could trust to give me an honest price.
Dan took a look at my transmission and let me know the fix was relatively minor. I was relieved, it would have been easy to overcharge me for the repair.
They also fixed my emission system so I can get smog checked and fixed a coolant leak.”

I drove a car that passed through many hands up to Carmel and noticed a few unsettling noises. They added me to their schedule, despite it being car week. They discovered that a bolt was missing, saved me from my tire falling off mid-drive, and got my bumper back on. Thanks to their quick and thorough work, I was able to safely make it back home! I can't recommend them enough :)”

“My tire pressure light came on about 20 minutes into a drive from Monterey to Sacramento. Instead of chancing it and completing the drive, I called Pacific Grove Tire & Service and they told me to come in. I bought my tires here about 3 years ago. They inspected and got me out of there in 30 minutes! Don was very, very helpful and I cannot thank him and the service crew enough for taking care of this so quickly!”
“I went here because my brother recommended this place before he passed away last thanksgiving, and it was only a couple of blocks away from my house, I pulled up at 8am and right away I was greeted and then referred to the master mechanic, he was very polite and kind, I explained my situation with my vehicle and how i had went to firestone and they did a diagnostic and told me what the problem was, right away he said that does not sound like your problem and I believe it is something else. So he recommended that i let him diagnose it, and he was right and what firestone told me was wrong, i had my breaks done at calderons and they did a terrible job and ripped me off, and i told him about that too, and he said not to worry and that they offered free brake inspections, my suv drove bad with bad breaks and tires rubbing, it was scary, long story short, they did a full inspection on my vehicle for free and found issues that i was not aware of and also found the real problem i was having with my front suspension and breaks. They quoted me a price that I thought was very reasonable and fair and I said let’s do it, they ordered the parts and the next day by 5pm my truck was done and let me tell you I could not be happier. My truck drives better than it ever has and my breaks are excellent. And everything is backed by a 2 year warranty. Excellent service excellent shop excellent job. Love this place and will definitely be back.”
“Went here after jiffy lube messed up an oil change. He was very helpful in repairing my car and getting the information needed . He doesn’t talk much but he’s straight forward and knowledgeable. And doesn’t insanely overcharge . Have gone back 2 times since for routine maintenance”
