“Only real downsides are that the staff never know when they will receive new items and don't have a catalog to let you know what they have. You have to look through everything for yourself.Other than that, they have a lot of retro as well as modern games, systems and accessories. They also repair pretty much anything video game related.Give them a try. You'll probably go every so often like me.”
“I am beyond impressed with the service we received!!! My dad’s phone just stopped working. Couldn’t unlock it. My mom passed a few months ago and the phone had all his pics and videos of her. The look on his face when the ATT store said it was a lost cause made me clear my schedule to drive down to see if I could help. My daughter had been to this place before and so that’s where we went!
And you know what he said “It can be fixed” I won’t lie I cried a lil bit. Not only did he fix it… he was able to fix it the SAME DAY!!! His professionalism is why we will NEVER take anything that needs to be fixed, that he can fix, ANYWHERE else! And you shouldn’t either!!! He explained what needed to happen. We couldn't power it back on after that and had put off taking it in because of the hassle and fear of the price tag that would come with the repair. We found Matias TV Service on Yelp and decided to give it a try and we were so happy with the experience. “Jose listened to my concern with the washer. I explained the problem and he tested the machine to see what the cause of the water leak. Unfortunately, it seemed to be OK and he was unable to find the cause of the water leak because the machine was working OK. He told me to watch for the leak and take a picture if it happens again. He was pleasant and professional.”
“I have never been to a UBreakIFix before, my concern was poor battery health on my iPhone. The staff was great, gave me a good explanation of the situation and all the “what ifs” that could take place as well as making me aware of the worst case scenario. I handed my phone over at 11:30am, they quoted me two hours for battery replacement. I arrived at 1:40pm and the phone was completed and in the same condition I handed it to them. The reason I can’t give them a 5th star is simply because yes, they did the battery replacement but the phone was returned to me with 4%, I understand the battery’s come on low state of charge it just would have been nice to know that they quality checked their work prior to my arrival(as in, get the phone to at least 50%). That attention to detail would have easily gotten them a 5 star but aside from that hiccup they seemed to do a good job.”

“I have a Carvin bass head that I put a lot of mileage on from 1994-2011, when it stopped working. I contacted multiple repair shops as well as Carvin and they all told me it was beyond repair. After 12 years of sitting in my garage, my amp finally found someone who believed that it still had some life in it. “I stopped by OG Collectibles in Downey the other day and honestly, it was a really good experience. The shop is clean and well-organized, which makes a big difference when you’re digging through cards. They’ve got a strong mix of stuff: current Pokémon and Magic sets, plenty of sealed product, a decent vintage section, singles in binders, some sports cards, and even a bunch of Funko Pops lined up.
The guy working there (long hair, laid-back vibe) was helpful without being over-the-top. He didn’t hover, but when I asked about a couple specific cards I’ve been looking for, he actually checked the back and came out with them. No pressure to buy, just straightforward. The woman behind the counter was friendly too, answered my questions about grading and pricing without making me feel like a total newbie.
Prices seemed reasonable for the area, nothing crazy inflated like some spots in LA, and better than what I’ve seen online for certain things after fees and shipping. I ended up grabbing a few singles and a booster pack, spent more than I planned but walked out happy with what I got.
It’s a legit, no-nonsense collectibles shop with a chill atmosphere. If you’re in the Downey area and into cards or pops, it’s definitely worth checking out. I’ll probably swing by again next time I’m nearby.
