“Friendly, knowledgeable, organic produce, they make their own pickles, jams, salsas and other canned goods using minimal sugars and nothing artificial. They even offer organic fresh savory pastries, that taste as good as they look!”

“They have nearly everything you need in this small store and the checkout line rarely has more than one person in front of you. I laugh at the people traipsing up to Trader Joe's to wait in long lines for produce that is vastly inferior to that in this store.I've seen some comments on the meat section and there is some validity. Check the pack dates, which are accurate, and if it is within the last 2 days your selection will be A+. I go here all the time for fish and chicken.”

“We'd like to express, our deep gratitude for store manager Kanoa Aipia who assisted a disabled patron. His immediate understanding of the situation, and willingness to help on the spot speaks volumes about character. That kind of goodness spills out like a resonant wave over the whole team. And you can see it in the positive energy throughout the store.”

“Amazing little grocery store. They sell wholesale to restaurants so their produce is always so fresh and affordable. For everything else, they pick the best of the best so you don't have analysis paralysis while looking at the shelves. The staff - especially Lupe - is also sooo nice! Highly recommend this spot.”

“A great Japanese grocery store! Be sure to go at lunch time for various prepared foods like croquettes, katsu, onigiri, spam musubi, karaage, sashimi, and a lot more.”

“Super friendly service and they always have what I need, even for items as personal as my go-to brown bread choice. I love the fresh salads (the Mediterranean garbanzo beans salad is a must-try) and I am glad to have such a convenient shop to rely on.”

“5 stars because beloved local business, good produce and middle eastern foods selection. Only place in the inner Richmond I've found that carries good yogurtBUT the checkout situation has gotten out of hand. One guy in particular won't let you bag your own groceries, insists on slowing down the line to do it himself, does a TERRIBLE job. Throws eggs and chips and cans and oranges into the same bag willy-nilly. Your store mostly serves people who are walking to/from, let us pack our bags in a way that makes sense ! Goofy”

“A great, family-owned gem in the Richmond! They always have a great variety of fresh produce and Hispanic items you won't find elsewhere. They also sell pork tamales that never fail to hit the spot.”

“A teeny tiny farmers market with just the basics. This place is only one small street, but it has most of what you need to make a yummy meal. They only have 1-2 vendors of every kind of offering, so maybe 2 berry sellers, 2 veggie sellers etc. It seems like most people come here for the smoked salmon or the berry people :)Good to note, no:AvocadosNot a lot of herbs or AromaticsMy personal favorite is the fig guy in the back. It's pretty teeny tiny so might not be worth making a drive out far, but what they have is of great quality. Also, not a rough crowd like the Civic Center farmers which is nice”

“Ali gets to know you by name and treats his customers with the utmost respect which can't be said for most corner stores in the area. Most times other places make you feel like your hard-earned money spent in their store is an inconvenience to them. City produce is not only the closest corner store to my home but it's the one I would pick above all others each and every time. His prices are priced as expected for the area however oftentimes if products are nearing expiration you'll find them on sale. The store is clean and ada accessible, unfortunately, there are no public restrooms but if it's an emergency during business hours there is an attended porto-potty on the opposite street corner.”

“Rollin' Root is a gem to the community of Visitacion Valley. It is farmer's market on truck that is usually operates in one of their locations in Leland Avenue, San Francisco, from 10 AM to 12 PM every Saturdays. They can be found inside the park beside Mission Blue coffee shop. The non-profit organization responsible for Rollin' Root is based in Marin County, north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge and they operate in several parts of the Bay Area. One of the best things of have this truck within Visitacion Valley is they attract several people from the neighborhood to try their nutritious fruits and vegetables. Jordan, one of the staff, makes free samples of the food with delicious recipes. All of their staff are incredibly nice, friendly and beautiful. Overall, I highly recommend for anyone living or visiting the neighborhood of Visitacion Valley to try the fruits and veggies of Rollin' Root every Saturdays.”

“It's alright, its best feature is that it's close to me. Farmers sell organic produce but it's expensive. The pastry stand is not as good as I hoped. There are some nice prepared foods (dumplings, hummus, bread, honey) and sometimes a fish guy.It sort of covers all the basics but isn't impressive enough that I want to go weekly. The farmers market on Clement is better and I go there instead if I have time.”

“I needed sandwiches for 3 days of meetings, and we had tried 2 other places for Mon and Tues (one mom-and-pop sandwich place and one nicer established chain). They were ok but we wanted to look for the best place. I found this market on the 3rd day of searching through Yelp reviews. We ordered about 11 sandwiches with chips the day of at 9:30 a.m. for 11:30 a.m. delivery. Ray was so helpful in taking our order, delivering the sandwiches, and being gracious even though I forgot to tell him to add a tip for the delivery! I waited for reviews from the meeting attendees, and they liked these sandwiches the best. We will be back next year, and I saved this business so that I can use them for all our lunches next year. Thank you, Ray!”

“So happy to learn they have Thai basil available here now when I need it randomly, I know where to go (in Chinatown). $2 a bag and extra bonus, the younger girl working at the register is SO nice and pleasant.Dong Hing sells almost every sauce/condiment you may need and the produce is excellent quality. The shop is super clean and very well organized ??”

“Good store for daily needs though it's a small one but having all essential items. Their prices are quite reasonable and quality is good. Shop timings are also convenient. Owner and staff are honest and helpful.”

“This will now be my go to for Thai grocery list. Purchased hard to find kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, and MaePloy curry paste. This store is in a terrible location but it's very clean and orderly. The owner was also very helpful.”

“The owner/management is rude as hell, and absolutely unpleasant to be subjected to, but if you can avoid him, the store is pretty fantastic for snacks, tobacco, drinks, household odds and ends, etc. Huge selection, mostly reasonable prices (although they change prices on a whim, and for no apparent reason other than because they dislike the customer in question) and unexpected items that bring a smile to your face. It really sucks that the customer service is so lacking, because everything else is on point.”

“There are many choices in Chinatown to shop for Asian vegetables, dry goods, condiments, meat and seafood, bakeries items, Chinese deli foods, and more. But where do you go to shop? Having grown up near Chinatown and shopping there with my parents over the years, I've become familiar as to which stores to shop for specific items as these were their go-to's.Located at the corner of Jackson and Stockton, you can't miss Vegiland. It's gone through several ownerships so the name has changed over the years. There's display bins of vegies by the entrance with bins on the Jackson St. side of the store. This is where I get my gai laan / Chinese broccoli and Yau choy as they are in bundles or packed in bags if you get the mue or the tender stalks of the veggies. The two aisles inside are on the narrow side and to pay, the waiting line is on right side of the store and there are usually two cashiers. The line usually goes quickly. They do have a small selection of condiments and frozen seafood. But for Asian veggies, it's my go-to for freshness and quality.”

“One of the best if not the best African store have visited. Products are always fresh and there customer services is to die for.I always enjoy buying stuff from them.”

“Great local market and deli! This is the perfect place to pick up those last minute items right when you're cooking dinner. Great selection of high quality items, the staff and owner are also all very friendly and helpful. Their deli makes a delicious assortment of sandwiches, I have had two so far and definitely plan on going back for more! If you live in the area this is the place to go!”

“The folks here are always friendly. I don't shop there often but it is my go-to for last minute items I need (produce, recipe ingredients, wine etc) rather than trekking it back to a larger grocery store. The store is decent sized, clean and organized.Prices are higher than big grocery stores but that is expected of a convenience grocery store. They're not a big corporation selling at large scales.”
