Tip Top Grocery Market is a neighborhood corner market, great for anything one might need or be craving late night. It is not for the faint of heart, but it is one of the only places in the neighborhood open very late. The store is pretty fantastic for snacks, tobacco, drinks, household odds and ends, hot food options, and unexpected items. It offers a huge selection, including things like a velour track suit, a pumpkin pie, a fake rolex, and a single cigarette for a buck. There are mostly reasonable prices, although they can change on a whim. The customer service is often lacking, and the owner or management can be rude and unpleasant. However, the guys behind the counter are always friendly and agreeable. Customers report never feeling unsafe, even when digging through freezer bins late at night. While sometimes items are expired, it remains a vital spot with friendly and patient customers and never very much of a wait.

it's shady around (and in) the place but they are great! they'll make you feel welcome and safe no matter what. also, if someone starts anything inside the store then they are quick to stop it and get rid of them!
