“Cat Clinic of Mill Valley is a walk-in clinic, especially for new clients. They seem to primarily serve the local community, with people coming in and out constantly, and I believe the veterinarian may be retiring soon. That said, this is a very useful resource for anyone in the Bay Area who needs urgent cat care and is willing to make the drive, especially since there are not many cat care options left in the area. Everyone who works there is very nice. It is also very busy, so I would recommend going as early as possible.”

“Not only are the vets here wonderful for cats, making observations about their personalities, they are also great with people and have to be with a lot of finicky cat people. My teen recently got frustrated as we adopted a brand new rescue kitten. She was convinced that the fur baby had "roundworms" just like our 5yo cat used to have. He didn't correct her, just gently suggested that the medication he was prescribing was for tapeworm, for both he eventually said. Only later did she realize her mistake and that the medication was correct... so she got to realize it in her own time... I certainly am not that skilled... we would have gotten into it, possibly bickering about who is right... The other point is that the atmosphere of the clinic, 1970s unchanged, is one of the last bits of old Mill Valley, and I love that. I like the idea that his son will carry it on even when dad retires I hope. Sweet people. Even if I move I will still bring my cats here. You can also consult his son about poison arrow frogs and reptiles, as he is a very knowledgeable animal lover in general. I was there one day when a sweet woman was picking up her cat's remains and grieving, and again, like people have said, there was such an empathy and a kindness from the staff as she grieved and talked about her little best friend and all the good care they had given him over the years... I can't even imagine what it will be like to lose my little familiar.... but I imagine they will be kind in breaking the news... Okay last thing, in an emergency I took my cat to a clinic out of town, male cat with crystallizations..., and they recommended all kinds of unnecessary stuff... with a very high price tag, and Dr. Innis was able to cut through the bs and tell me, oh that's a fancy antibiotic but you can just do this and your cat will be healed. Gold! My bill went from 655 to about 150. He gives what is medically necessary and doesn't pad anything. Better for the people, the cats and the pocketbook. Refreshing and I love that!! I think they are up there with the Bay Area best... and they have earned my respect, many times over.”

“Dr Sams was excellent with our young springer spaniel (as were all the team at the clinic). Very thorough, experienced and with a sensible approach to balancing resting a young energetic dog but within what's reasonable to do so! Would thoroughly recommend this clinic to anyone who finds themselves in the position of needing an excellent orthopedic vet.”

Dr. Vaikhary Is an excellent, highly skilled veterinarian and I always feel like my dogs are in good hands with her. She and her staff are great listeners and seem to really care about my dogs when I bring them in. “We’re really grateful to have such a great local vet at Alto Tiburon. They’ve taken amazing care of our dog, Wally, and have been so supportive of us as first time puppy parents. We’ve had quite a few visits over the past year, and every time Dr. Dowell has been incredibly kind, reassuring, and knowledgeable. He takes the time to clearly explain possible causes and treatment options, which really helps put our minds at ease. We also appreciate how transparent they are about pricing and they’ve even waived fees a few times when we’ve come in for follow-ups, which speaks volumes about their care and integrity. They’re great at squeezing us in for same-day appointments when something comes up, which has saved us from a lot of waiting and worrying. All of the vet techs are fantastic as well. Wally can be a little squirmy and nervous at the vet, but they’re always so patient and gentle with him, which we really appreciate.”
