Five stars for Sunny at the bakery! I placed an order last week for 48 cupcakes for my child's birthday party. I had a special request in terms of frosting color and Sunny hit it out of the park! I was so pleased when I picked up the order and I received many compliments from guests on how beautiful the cupcakes were. My husband said they tasted great too. Thank you Sunny for helping to make the party a success, I appreciate your efforts so much!

Impatient customer service!!!!!!I had Safeway app on my phone and want to clip some coupons. But I never did it myself, Whenever I have those sale items, I always went to the cashier for help.Yesterday, I was going to check out 2 sale items which need to clip the coupons with other regular items. I went to the self-checkout machine to learn how to do it myself but didn't know how to start. I asked the cashier who wasn't busy to show me how to start. She wasn't happy that I don't know how to clip the coupons and showed impatient to my questions. I knew I'm not smart enough to understand all the digital check outs. Therefore, I need help. Finally, I found out that I had different phone # on my membership account and my app. That's the reason the cashier kiosk can't read the right price. I didn't purchase the items because I was afraid to ask her help again.Safeway need to open a help counter to teach customers who like me, a senior without digital knowledge so we don't have to feel hesitate to ask. Or you may lose business to Trader Joe across the street just because the customer service.

I am giving three stars because although their product selection is great, their operating hours are not correct. The hours open are displayed as 5:00am to 2:00am -- but that is a half-truth. Indeed, the store at this location opens at 5am (if they actually let their front sliding door operate correctly), but the closing time is NOT 2am.Twice in the past week I have tried to stop by around 1:20am and not only are most of the entrances blocked off by shopping carts, but the main entrance may open a crack. The transponder above lights up green, but the doors never open. I fear trying to open the doors physically because I would not want to catch the ire of security, but not being open and available (as their sign on the window indicates they should) during operating hours does a massive disservice to some in the local community. The Millbrae Safeway is the closest one to the SFO Airport, and many employees aren't able, during the day, to do shopping and thus rely on these late hours to conduct basic shopping. It is absolutely frustrating to waste time and energy to try an patronize an establishment that lies about their hours and doesn't seem to care about the local professionals who rely on such late hours for planning purposes. In the end, if you want to close up early, fine -- those of us who live in SF are accustomed to Safeway stores being closed by midnight. Just don't deceive potential guests by posting erroneous operating hours and just let us know that you truly close at 1am or midnight.Addendum: Thanks for the quick "Response from the owner". The suggestion to "...chat with us on the Contact Us page on our website" would be great, however the 'Submit' button does not work on either Chrome or Microsoft Edge, so how about fixing that part first.

Both online and when you call, it says the hours are 5 AM to 2 AM. It’s 12 AM right now and you can tell they’ve been closed for at least an hour because nobody’s around. False advertising.

EDIT: Four months later and the Door Hoover® is back! Right on schedule, 15 min early."nine min close-a store!""six min close-a store!""five min close-a store!""four min close-a store!"Surely there's something else to be doing aside from Hoovering® the front door. Obviously I have entirely too much time on my hands thumb typing a review for the 1% who care. Hey, Mr. Door Hoover® ?? give it a rest. Lock the door at midnight and be done with it. Be thankful you haven't been transferred to San Mateo, where you'd be reminded nightly why you hate customers so much. There is hope for you yet.EDIT: not a whole lot has changed after a year although there didn't seem to be a clerk hovering over the door 20 minutes prior to closing. However it looks like a great place to steal products off the shelves as I routinely watch people walk right out the door with arms full of drinks liquor Hot Food Etc nobody seems to do anything. Safeway continues to jack-up their prices without investing profits into basic loss prevention. Still shopping elsewhere: END EDITNo, no, no, just NO. Prices are super jacked up, and night time supervisor arbatrairily closes the doors early at will. Website states open until 2:00am, signs on both doors used to say 2:00am but have been altered with a sharpie to say 12:00am. They shut the doors @ 11:45pm and will not allow you in. You can beg and plead all you want, you will be turned away. I have shopped here for years mainly because they used to be open 24hrs. Now it's just a joke. why turn loyal customers away 10-15min before closing? I shop elsewhere now. Thanks but no thanks.

Saturday......noon......35+ people waiting in line for the only TWO registers open.....25+ people waiting for the self checkout....with another 10+ people waiting for their receipt to be "checked" by the one employee trying to catch theft at the self checkout. Insane! I left my full cart near the checkout, and just went home.

Update. I found peppermint syrup later, but not in a coffee section but at deli, just was passing by a noticed those bottles in a location no one will look for. Safeway needs better organization and structuring, just in case went to coffee/syrop aisle, that had all the other syrops but not peppermint...Great variety of everything. Was looking for peppermint syrup, not there(

It’s so hard to find specific product you’re looking for when you find in the app. It would be nice to list the location in the app. You don’t find help here like other stores. Staff in the fruit department are the only helpful ones for 20+ years I’ve shopped here. The lady at the self check out with 2” finger nails is so rude. Kind of sad that Lucky store is going away soon and this will remain the only supermarket.
