“Redwoods helped me with so much came there with barley anything. I just had my son and right before my sons first birthday I was able to bring home my other son that was with my mom and dad. I'm so grateful for this place. They helped me get what I neededI even went to their grad house which helped me even more to become more independent & responsible. I was able to get into a place of my own too. I have my kids with me and I now work at redwoods as staff I've been working here 2years now. I'm grateful I get to help women and kids.”

“Hi I'm a mother of a trans person. I've been seeking out support group that would help with navigating through issues of depression, anxiety etc. As a mother you want to make sure you can provide as much support as you can to your children whether you agree with the with decisions or not. My first visit was on Friday for for there trans group, I was welcome to stay because it was small. But I have to say this place was a 10/10 my opinion. They had a lot to offer and was staff was so welcoming with all the services. I feel for this community it's important to a stablish community friendships to help and stay comfortable in your journey. I hope my person continues to use the service well organized and friendly. “I volunteer here for my school clinicals and it’s just amazing how they help the community and help you get back on your feet. They literally help you with everything , with your kids , medical help , dental help, food, water , shower to use. Place to stay. They help you find a job etc... It was a very nice experience . They believe in god, they pray every morning , there’s no words to describe how amazing this place is . They believe in second chances.”

“I don’t know how we would’ve gotten through the last 2 1/2 years without Carlos and our entire community. I lost my mom to Alzheimer’s 3-18-23.Carlos is a wealth of knowledge. He devotes so much time to educating people on the devastating umbrella of dementia. He also trains healthcare providers on how to be the most effective with their memory care patients.The support you receive and give to others is priceless. We felt completely alone when we started this journey with Mom. My dear friend and her mom introduced me to this support group, I will be forever grateful.”

“Last summer, I learned that each second (2nd) Saturday of the month, the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), Central Valley Chapter - Modesto puts on a Pancake Breakfast. Since my first fly-in to Modesto for this event last year, I have enjoyed and met some pretty interesting folks. Not to mentioned, I've seen some pretty awesome planes at this event too. The breakfast starts about 9 am and goes until 11 am. But I've shown up as early as 7:45 am and been able to grab a bite to eat, some coffee and was was able to get back on the road to my next destination within an hour. Breakfast cost approximately $6 dollars per person and the folks hosting the event take either cash or credit cards. Also offered with the cost of breakfast is the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets. But, since I've never stayed for the duration of the breakfast, I don't really know what's up for raffle. Breakfast ~ Once you've paid, you head over to the serving tables where you're handed a nice size plate to hold whats sure to be an awesome breakfast. First up is your choice of eggs. Scrambled or over easy. Next, your choice of either pecan or regular pancakes. A buttermilk biscuit and country gravy is next followed by a cup of re-fried beans and a cup of fruit. You're also provided with unlimited coffee and juice. While you're enjoying your breakfast, you can't help but hear the sounds of airplanes landing, taxing and shutting down by the hangar. As you can see by the pictures I've posted, you never know what or who's going to show. If you play your cards right, you may meet that pilot flying one of those awesome aircraft who's anxious to not only show you his / her plane but, give you a ride around the valley. If your free on a second Saturday and looking for a good breakfast, good company and maybe some excitement, this events for you.”

“If you are interested in government or politics & would like to understand how our Constitution was written based on Christian values, you will love this class. Mike Winther has immersed himself all his life in Biblical studies and politics. He makes the 2 hour class fly by. He is knowledgeable, articulate and funny. It is a 10 week commitment but don’t let that stop you. All of the classes are available for you from their website in case you have to miss one. They have a workbook which you can purchase for $20. I don’t think that is a requirement, however.”

“Modesto Dial-a-Ride held an open forum meeting at Howard Training Center. The meeting was informative but, unfortunately, under attended. I am unsure of the root cause of the lack of attendance but maybe Dial-a-Ride should choose a different location to see if that helps.”
“Today I was assigned a new doctor at this location. Dr. Wong, is what every patient in pain needs. She explained everything, asked a lot questions, very patient friendly, and had great energy. She was able to. resolve my issue and hopefully I won't have to return. The entire experience at Sutter was a great one.”
“Staff and overall are 5 stars. The place is being refurbished and is well taken care of. Tenants are friendly and take care of their own. Never had a problem in the 2 years I've been there.”
