The Best Western De Anza Inn is a reasonably priced hotel located a short drive from downtown Monterey, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and whale watching at Moss Landing. The staff is consistently described as lovely, professional, friendly, and amazingly helpful, often going out of their way for guests. Rooms are generally found to be sufficient, spotless, and cleaned to an impeccable standard daily, with comfortable beds, though an isolated issue with a lumpy mattress was noted. The public areas are clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast included in the stay, which is considered sufficient with a lot of great options. There is a small outdoor pool and hot tub that guests enjoy, though occasional closures have been disappointing for some. The property is pet friendly, but guests should inquire about specific pet policies. Parking is generally easy and safe, though parking for larger SUVs can be limited. The location next to a Denny's has drawn some comments about questionable people outside. Despite being busy, the hotel is typically not loud. I have been a Rewards member for decades. The rooms were spotless and the staff was very professional and friendly. The house keeping manager took care of issues immediately. My two complaints: 1. Lack of parking for SUVs. 2. Next door to Denny's which has questionable people hanging around outside.

The Mlady that helped us with our breakfast was very nice and respectful. She kept it very clean.
