Wells Fargo bank is a typical California bank, so not much to say there. However, this location in Monterey is truly unique. Made from a restored church, the exterior doesn't look like a bank at all, and when you enter, the tall ceiling and other fixtures they preserved are beautiful. Makes you want to have a reason to just go in and check on your account!

More tellers and better hours would be nice especially since the ATM machines don't always function as they should. The people working there are great, wish there were more like them in the bank.

Extremely poor customer service. I have been banking with Wells Fargo for over 10 years and this branch has no regard for loyalty or respect for their customers. I have had to come into the branch three times for assistance with different account matters and each and every time, there are either no bankers available to assist or the bank tellers treat you with zero regard for your time. The bankers themselves respond in a frustrated manner when actually having to sit down with a customer. I am highly disappointed by the way in which this branch represents Wells Fargo

I went to cash a check and they didn't want to do it because supposedly my ID wasn't proper and I needed "better" identification....I've been to the banks in Monterey and Salinas multiple times and never had this problem.

I CAN'T RECOMMEND LESLEY PRETORIUS HIGHLY ENOUGH!! And come check out this beautiful building, too! It's historic! I hear they used to run a brothel in the basement. ;) Working with Lesley Pretorius was SUCH a pleasure. The state doesn't make it easy to buy houses and Wells Fargo is really careful about vetting and double-checking and getting all the paperwork they need. Lesley was such a peach! She gave us our pre-approval letter and from the first meeting was just so courteous, kind, efficient & overall fantastic. Later on in the process she was very understanding that we were a bit late with some of the paperwork and she worked like a fiend (in a good way) with our mercurial realtor to keep the process going. She worked ON THE WEEKEND - who does that??? She was always kind to me even though technically my partner was officially signing most of the paperwork - she never treated me in any way as less than him in any way. About this Wells Fargo in general - this building is absolutely GORGEOUS. It's on a "must-see" list if you're visiting the area just because of its historic importance and architectural beauty.

The Wells Branch in Monterey was extremely helpful in getting me the foreign currencies I required for an upcoming trip. They were most courteous and efficient in the entire process.

I have been with Wells Fargo for over thirty years. Since I was going to attend the noon Mass at San Carlos Cathedral, I decided to do my check cashing transaction at Monterey Branch. I was attended by Mariana who put me though so much humiliation. I'm a high volume client of Wells Fargo. The disgusting attitude shown to me by Mariana was really unnecessary and uncalled for. I could just question how Wells Fargo could employ such nasty person. I'm sure that justice will catch up with her sooner than later. By all means, avoid this despicable character.

i have been banking here for more than 26 years, but only because my grandmother left my me some dough before her demise. Wells Fargo notified my that they were terminating my Trust Fund Phiadelphia Wells Fargo and I would receive the market value. The notified me of this last July. And I'm still waiting!

Friendly staff, Barry makes the extra effort. I think their way of asking customers in line what type of transaction are they making or if they are getting cash is intrusive and I'd rather not announce when I'm making cash withdrawals in line- this seems to be at all Wells Fargo's. Downside is don't attempt to go here or find parking on Tuesday after noon! (Farmers Market)
